Nite Callers Bigfoot Radio Presents: Florida Researcher Pat Rance

    in Paranormal

Gearing down for the Christmas holidays, Nite Callers bring you the last show of the year. Continuing the series of the North American Sasquatch Researcher, we welcome good friend and veteren Bigfoot researcher Pat Rance.

What started out as an elusive hobby for Pat Rance has virtually turned into an obsession to hunt the elusive Bigfoot that has been sighted in the Green Swamp of Florida at least 10 or more times in the last several years. Pat Rance actually came face to face with the creature in a dramatic night time encounter in Sumter County. In April 2006, along with three other researchers, Pat set up camp in the swamp southwest of Clermont. Having seen foot prints in the area as large as 18 inches long and 9 inches wide, they baited the campsite with a box of pancakes covered in syrup. When they later found more tracks and the pancakes were eaten, they knew they were in the right spot. " It was nighttime and I was returning to the main camp with a friend." Pat recalls. " We heard sudden movement in the trail immediately in front of us and I looked up to see a large creature jump off to the side of the trail. It was about 30 feet away and with my flashlight shining on it I could see this round head and massive shoulders above the tops of the palmettos. I went to raise my night vision glasses to my eyes and the creature jumped back onto the trail and quickly ran ahead of us and disappeared into the night. As we passed the spot where he'd been standing, I could smell maple syrup. I was totally awestruck. It happened soi fast I really didn't have time to be scared. I was surprised and elated at the same time. It was so satifying to finally see the creature I had been hearing about and hunting." To hear this story and  other experiences from Pat Rance, be sure to tune in tonight for a celebration of Christmas and some really amazing stories.

    Mable John-First Lady of Motown-Exclusive Interview - Mon, Dec 15, 2014 630 pm

    in Music

Mable John (born November 3, 1930) is an American blues vocalist and was the first female signed by Berry Gordy to Motown's Tamla label. John was born in Bastrop, Louisiana. At a very young age, she and her parents moved to north across the state-line into Arkansas where her father got a job in a paper mill near the community of Cullendale. There four brothers (including R&B singer Little Willie John) and two sisters were born. In 1941, after her father was able to secure a better job, the family moved to Detroit, where two additional brothers were born. The family lived in a new housing development at Six Mile and Dequindre Road. She attended Cleveland Intermediate School, and then Pershing High School, which is at Seven Mile and Ryan Road. After graduating from Pershing High School, she took a job as an insurance representative at Friendship Mutual Insurance Agency, a company run by Berry Gordy's mother, Bertha. Later, she left the company and spent two years at Lewis Business College. She subsequently ran into Mrs. Gordy again, who told Mabel that her son Berry was writing songs and was looking for people to record them. Gordy began coaching her and would accompany John on piano at local engagements. This continued until 1959, when John performed at the Flame Show bar on John R Street at the last show that Billie Holiday did in Detroit, just weeks before Holiday's death.
The same year, John began recording for Gordy. First she was signed to United Artists, but nothing was released there. Eventually, she became one of the first artists signed to Tamla, Gordy's own label. In 1960, she released her first Tamla single, "Who Wouldn't Love a Man Like That?," a romantic blues number, to no success. John followed with "No Love" in June of that year and then with "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" by year's end.

    in Music

Superstar singer, Marvin Gaye's baby sister, Zeola Gaye, sets the record straight about her big brother's incredible life and tragic death. It includes a Foreword by Grammy Award Winner, Carlos Santana and shocking excerpts from a letter handwritten by Marvin, himself. This is a must-read tell all for any Marvin Gaye fan or music enthusiast.

Zeola was a large part of Marvin’s life, working with him on tour in many capacities, as well as singing background on his hit “Got To Give It Up,” and performing as one of his dancers on his European and U.S. tours.

Zeola served as personal assistant to her brother on his last tour “Midnight Love.” She spent most of her time with Marvin, during his ups and downs after his tour ended in 1983, until his untimely demise.

Zeola’s credits include writing and co-producing the successful stage play, My Brother Marvin. She is currently collaborating with her sister, Jeanne Gaye on the stage play My Brother Marvin II.

    ZEOLA GAYE

“My Brother Marvin, a Memoir by Zeola Gaye” is Zeola’s new book about life with Marvin, and is long overdue—twenty seven years to be exact. Zeola felt that she and her family could no longer live with all of the rumors and inaccuracies that have been written or taped in documentaries about her brother and her family.

Finally Zeola has written the true untold story, and is setting the record straight about her brother Marvin.

Fans around the world who loved and appreciated Marvin and his music, will appreciate the book, “My Brother Marvin, a Memoir by Zeola Gaye,” written by, and from the heart of his sister.
