Sam Thurman, Cliff Stewart, and Ethel Lopez of the Colorado exoneration firm A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.
Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect. Sam, Cliff and Ethel will highlight ongoing struggles against "the system" to free wrongfully imprisoned people, and what happens when justice miscarries against an actually innocent person.
Our special guests for tonight's show are Wrongly Convicted, James Fleishman, who recently wrote a book about his experience, titled "Inside Story and Exoneree, Alan Newton, who spent 22 years in prison for a crime, he didn't commit.

Well, this show was supposed to be the glorious return of the Colorado Rapids Thugcast, previewing the 2015 season for the Burgundy Boys. Apparently that might not be happening, though. So... hey, let's talk about the MLS CBA battle between the players and the owners for a while as well! I'm sure Bulldog Ben and myself will find plenty to talk about, unless we've lost our touch or something. (Something tells me we probably haven't. You and I both know that the two of us can talk for hours.)
Episode 26: Colorado State-Pueblo Quarterback Chris Bonner and his team won the Division 2 National Championship in 2014. He is a big, strong passer with a cannon for an arm. Chris has the ability to extend plays with nifty footwork and the strength to shed pass rushers trying to bring him down. Importantly, he keeps his eyes downfield while manipulating the pocket. Furthermore, he suffered from a lot of dropped passes by his wide receivers. Unlike, many other quarterbacks entering the NFL, he played in a pro style offense. This means that he is used to NFL routes that he will have to complete as well as going up against coverages that are more reminicent of those used by pro defenses. After winning the National Title, he was invited and participated in the Medal of Honor Bowl where he had a nice outing. On the flipside of the coin, Chris has only adequate accuracy and decision making skills. If he is able to improve substantially in these areas then he may reach his ceiling of a good to very good starting quarterback in the NFL.

Welcome to Bill Martinez Live, hosted by an unapologetic AMERICAN U.S. Marine of Mexican descent who knows why people come to America but demands that immigrants come through the front door and that the rule of law be respected. Bill Martinez Live waves just one flag and has no use for hyphenated hearts torn between the Stars and Stripes and some other foreign banner. We put the United States over party politics and broadcast our unstinting praise of this great land to 250 American cities through CRN, BML syndication and the ever popular Blog Talk Radio platform.
Republicans & Democrats have lost a grasp on life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for America. Bill Martinez Live helps us regain it. Listen in to the show to hear every facet of the issues but keep your eye on God and the exceptionalism to which he has urged on America and its people. Our nation is at a crossroads but remember your solemn birthright fellow Americans as "We the People". Would YOU like to be a rapid fire guest? Contact my producer Bill McIntosh at 305-396-2806 and leave a message if he doesnt pick up or email a 30 word intro of yourself and send us your land and cell phone numbers (if you have both) to: email@example.com
The recent memo from the Attorney General’s office baring local and state police from using federal asset forfeiture law to seize cash, cars and other property without warrants or criminal charges represents the most sweeping check on police power to confiscate personal property since the seizures began three decades ago as part of the war on drugs. Our first guest is Omar Figueroa, a Sebastopol lawyer who has been involved in many precedent setting marijuana cases as well as in the politics of marijuana prohibition. Attorney Figueroa will explore the ramifications of this new memo and take a look at how this will affect medical marijuana patients especially in light of the feds new hands off policy in medical marijuana states.
A lawsuit filed by the anti-drug group Safe Streets and three other plaintiffs including the owners of Holiday Inn target a number of Colorado lawmakers, including Gov. John Hickenlooper (D), Revenue Department Executive Director Barbara Brohl and Marijuana Enforcement Division Director W. Lewis Koski. Going a step beyond simply suing the state, the plaintiffs are also going after participants in Colorado's commercial marijuana industry. Citing federal racketeering laws, the plaintiffs are seeking damages due to alleged injury brought on by legalization.
The Marijuana Policy Project is not taking this legal action lightly and has called for a boycott of Holiday Inn Hotels. MPP Communications Director Morgan Fox is the show’s second guest who will take a look at the lawsuit and explain how the boycott will be carried out.
