FISA Court fight. Saudi princess jailed in CA. Egypt now?

    in Politics

Open mic today but we have three topics:  controlling the FISA Court, the jailing in California of a Saudi princess for slavery, and what next in Egypt?
The FISA Court has united the Left and teh Right.  We will see what happens now.  The first bill to control the Court failed by a handfull of votes, but the fight is not over.
While the Congress is focused on building a Chinese Wall at our border and electrocuting illegal immigrants with high voltage fences to stop mythical criminals from entering teh US, wealthy Saudis fly in on luxery jets, buy up homes and flaunt our laws.  Not any more.
Dozens killed in Egypt this weekend as Morsi supportes start a low level civil war.  Will Al Queda use it as a door into the largest Arab country and our best ally in teh Arab world?  We talk about it.
A new concept in the opinion-driven world of talk radio, Fairness Radio is a daily one-hour on-line and on-air radio show featuring liberal Patrick O'Heffernan interviewing national guests from across the political spectrum.  Patrick talks with everyone from conservative Senator Jim DeMint to former Democratic Party Chairman Governor Howard Dean to explore news, politics and culture from all sides in a civil conversation that focuses on idea, not gotcha’s.  With an international team experts from all sides of the political spectrum Fairness Radio covers the events of the world like no one else.

Author Conversation: "They Know Everything about You" on "The Tim Danahey Show"

    in Politics

We all value Constitutional protections. They were designed to protect us from our government. But what happens when Silicon Valley corporations are the agents of government and they use social media and hardware to violate our Fourth Amendment protections? Should we have to forfeit our rights to when we click “I Agree” to use social media? Should Congress enact “opt in” legislation that requires data gatherers specific permission to use or sell our information? The degree of data gathering has gone far beyond anything we imagined. In fact, Facebook is working with the Defense Department on the Minerva Research Initiative which is designed to use social media to coerce public opinion and quell dissent. You won’t believe what the person in charge of Google’s long-term planning said about swallowing a daily data chip with you vitamin and their ability to monitor whether you’ve taken your pill today. It’s FDA-approved. Listen to the author of “They Know Everything About You” then buy the book.  Since 2010 The Tim Danahey Show show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective. The show does not espouse a political agenda. There is no rambling discourse or personal attacks. This show is one of the highest quality and professional programs available. Tim Danahey’s strength is to take complex subjects, talk with experts, and make them comprehensible and entertaining for average listeners.

"Let's Have A Real Discussion About Ferguson" on "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee"

    in Politics

"Ferguson".  That word carries many new meanings for me as it surely will for our society going forward.  It conjures up many subjects considering what has gone on there right before our eyes.  I read an open letter today that my media brother Nick Bernabe made me aware of found here: http://www.marchforward.org/veterans_appeal_to_national.  There were other letters and calls to various groups and organization as we all have seen.  Tonight we will discuss Fergosun. The Grand Jury, the protests, the Missouri State Constitution, recent police shootings, the growing concerns of the Militarization of our Police Force, the way Mainstream Media covers protests, as well as the recent history of protests in our country.  Joining me tonight will be Attorney Catherine Bernard.  Catherine is an activist, former political candidate and  an advocate of Constitutional Government, Long time Activist, Coffee Party Newsroom Editor and Radio Host, Bobby Rodrigo's new show on "I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee" on Coffee Party USA Radio every Tuesday at 8:30PM.   He advocates engagement, coalitions and continues to point out that the Constitution is the Rule of Law in our land and why it should remain so.  His disdain for Money in Politics, the Political Party Machine and partisan blind allegiance is on full display as he advocates against the erosion of our Constitutional Protections in the name of corruption and tyranny.
