    Kansas City Temple

    in Sports

Many Mormons were killed and the rest driven from the state of Missouri in the 1830s.  Today, the people of Western Missouri love them and welcome them as neighbors.  In 2012, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints completed the Kansas City Temple.  Shirley Murdock is the Director of Public Affairs for the Independence Missouri Stake of the Church.  She is the special guest for this program and will tell us how the people of Western Missouri have answered the call of Finishers Wanted to accomplish great things.

"The distinctive double towers of the Kansas City Missouri Temple rise majestically over I-435 in Kansas City's Northland.  Nearly 91,000 people toured the Kansas City Missouri Temple during its public open house. Because of the high number of reservations made for tour times, the open house was extended an additional week."

    A TRIBUTE TO LAVOY FINICUM

    in Politics

A SMALL TRIBUTE TO A FELLOW AMERICAN

A GOOD MAN MAY HAVE BEEN DRYGULCHED BY THE GOVERNMENT.

    Word Origin DRYGULCHED

    verb (used with object), Informal.

1.to ambush with the intent of killing or severely mauling:

One unarmed cowboy was murdered by 16 lawless men

2.to betray by a sudden change of attitude or allegiance:

THE CULPRITS LURED HIM INTO AN AMBUSH.

    GET A PICTURE OF LAVOY

LOOK INTO THE EYES OF THAT MAN. DO YOU SEE HATE THERE? ARE YOU TELLING ME HE COULD NOT BE REASONED WITH?

HE FAVORS HIS RIGHT SIDE AND THAT IS WHERE HIS HOLSTER IS. HIS FRIENDS ARE SAYING HE LEFT HIS GUNS BEHIND.

THE SHOOTERS SAY HE WAS REACHING ACROSS HIS BODY TO HIS LEFT SIDE TO GET HIS GUN. BUT OTHERS SAY HE WAS ALREADY SHOT AND WAS REACHING TO FEEL THE WOUND. HOW MANY PEOPLE IN THE WHITE TRUCK?

55 YEARS OLD, THE FATHER OF ELEVEN. DO YOU THINK HE WANTED TO MAKE HIS WIFE A WIDOW? HIS KIDS ORPHANS?

DID HE MAKE A RUN FOR IT FROM TWO VEHICLES BEHIND HIM BECAUSE THEY ALREADY STARTING FIRING?

AS SOON AS HE HIT THE SNOWBANK WHY DID HE JUMP OUT IN PLAIN SIGHT AND STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AND EXTEND HIS ARMS CRUCIFIX STYLE?  WHY DID THE FIRST SHOOTER FALL BACK OUT OF VIDEO RANGE. WAS THE VIDEO EDITED? WHY WAS HE NOT GIVEN A CHANCE TO SURRENDER?  THEN A SECOND SHOOTER AND THEN A BACK SHOOTER WHO COULD HAVE TACKLED HIM EASY. INSTEAD HE STEPPED FORWARD AND SHOT HIM AT CLOSE RANGE IN THE BACK..

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

"Asa Philip Randolph was about ten when a group of solemn, angry men arrived at his Jacksonville, Florida, home one afternoon. They wanted to see his father, Reverend James William Randolph.  The reverend gathered the men in the family's sparse living room, and they told him what had happened.
A black man had been locked up in the Duval County jail and angry white men were muttering about hanging him without a trial.  Such hangings,  known as lynchings, were terribly familiar to black people, particularly in the South.  But the city of Jacksonville had a tradition of African American pride; the black men gathered in Randolph house were not willing to tolerate lynching.  Guns packed, they were prepared to encircle the jail and greet the white mob with force. They wanted the reverend to join them.
The Randolph's kept two guns in the house, a Bulldog pistol and a shotgun. James Randolph handed his wife the shotgun, took the Bulldog for himself and headed for the Jail. Elizabeth Randolph, a dead shot, kept the gun cradled across her lap for the rest of the night.  The Reverend returned home at dawn, exhausted but relieved.  When the lynch mob was confronted with the jail's armed defenders they wisely backed down."  A. PHILIP RANDOLPH and the AFRICAN AMERICAN LABOR MOVEMENT by Calvin Craig Miller.

Live Interview With Major Alonzo Byrd Jr., A Young Man With A Vision

    in Christianity

He grew up to hard working parents that retired, doing what they believed was right and lived on their retirement. That's not enough nowadays. They were lied to, and his book was written to change the future of its readers, so that you'll have it better than him and his ancestors. We are to progress forward in all areas of life. He watched not only his parents struggle, but also all his aunts, uncles, and friends to this day. He believed it doesn't have to be this way. He wanted to change all that, and he would die behind this principle alone: to make life better for those around him. When he was little a guy, he always saw himself as a great innovator like Marcus Garvey, or a profound thinker like Frederick Douglass, or the black Tony Stark (“Ironman”). He was a young problem solver, inventor, and business owner.

He stayed in his imagination. He was an A & B student, studied and worked hard, yet he was always curious about life, like how and what he can do to contribute to the world. He owned Legos & Knex. he would build everything you could imagine, and then go beyond the expectations of the creators of the toy. He used to take apart everything and put it together again, until he started my first business. He was about 6 or 7, when he began to sell comic books. Next, he opened his candy business.  This young man was busy...

Join me Hezekiah L. Montgomery host of The Man In The Mirror, and my guest co-host Deacon Thomas Farr from "Issues Christian Men Talk, as we interview this young man, the Black Tony Stark, a man with a vision, the one and only Major Alonzo Byrd Jr.  He'll give us the 411 about how he became an entrepreneur, author and how he motivates our young people today with the Y.U.P Incentive.

Now he is honored to have a great group of guys that are on the same level as he,a group that is focused on bringing the truth out and finding the right way of finding evidence with out killing one. Super Bowl 50 Preview Show

    in Rock Music

With Super Bowl 5o this week, I wanted to dedicate the show to talking as much Football as possible. I will have a few "experts" on the show to break down the big game and add their analysis of Super Sunday.

While we usually have a spotlight on local bands I have decided to spotlight a local football legend. Frank Geffre the architect behind the South Beach Panthers, one of the best sandlot football teams from our era. Frank was the catalysts behind the start upof this team and not only the backbone on the field but the general off f it. I will have Frank on to discuss this era of sandlot football and why it will never be duplicated.

I will also ask the entire staff to call in and their picks for the game and maybe we will pick some of those promo bets that are so famous now.

We will also start our celebration of February by doing "Black Sabbath History Month". Starting this Thursday and each Thursday in this month we will do a bit of black sabbath History in honor of the Retiring band.

We have have our next segment of "What does Jeff think?" where we ask Jeff Tolwinski to respond to a question from one of our listeners.

Lots of Stuff to do and talk about and we only have 180 monutes to do it.

See you thursday at 6:30 pm est on blogtalkradio.com
