Welcome to Happiness Index. Today we will revisit the concept of Hope & Service as a path to happiness. We will explore hope and service and the concept of race. Our book Beyond Fear, explore this issue personally, up close and in-depth. According to Vaclav Havel Hope is a state of mind, not of the world. Either we have hope within us or we don’t; it is a dimension of the soul, and it’s not dependent on some observation of the world or estimate of the situation. Service is a valuable action, deed, or effort performed to satisfy a need or to fulfill a demand. When we have hope and we are in service. We are in a positive state of mine that the action or deed that we are performing for another will have a positive outcome. We trust that what we do is guided and directed by the Great Sprit. We believe that what we are doing will make a difference and as a result we are happy. Join the conversation and share your wisdom on Hope & Service: A Path to Happiness by calling (347) 539-5818.
Today we continue our conversation on Acts of Grace as a portal to happiness. We also honor Father's Day as an act of grace. Many times we do not acknowledge the grace that comes with being a father. To be a father is to be deeply rooted in grace. Fatherhood is grace and is also happiness. Moment by moment acts of grace that one may take as a path to one’s daily happiness is our focus in today’s show. Grace according to the Webster’s New American Dictionary is beauty. As such, we want to inspire every man to share their love, kindness and compassion in the spirit of father’s day. As the plant springs from, and could not be without the seed, so every act of a man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. James Allen writes.
Welcome to Happiness Index. Today we will revisit the value responsibility and service as a path to happiness. Responsibility is the act of being accountable for something within one's control. A Course in Miracles goes deeper, it says, I am responsible for what I see. I choose the feelings I experience, and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for, and receive as I have asked. It reminds us that we are responsible for our thoughts, feelings and actions. It is through service that we can express the happiness that we feel. As we come to the realization of the source of our happiness, we can make changes. We can choose to be happy learners. We can make happiness our choice and choose love over fear, peace instead of conflict. We can choose to be responsible for every choice that we make. Welcome to Happiness Index. This month began with laughter and stories and we are ending the month with laughter and stories. we continue our focus on storytelling. July is the essence of summer and it inspires, evokes and awakens our heart with stories that are telling. Storytelling is an ancient art form. Storytelling paints events with words and images often by improvisation or embellishment. Stories are rooted in every culture as a means of entertainment, igniting joy, knowledge, inspiration and education. Stories are intercessors and they offer a way for us to connect with our ancestors, ancient cultures and moral values. We need intermediaries. Tune in and share your story. Welcome to Happiness Index! Our discussion today is to explore the role of “play” in creating happiness in our life. The truth is that play seems to be one of the most advanced methods nature has invented to allow a complex brain to create itself. ? Stuart Brown, author of PLAY: HOW IT SHAPES THE BRAIN, OPENS THE IMAGINATION, AND INVIGORATES THE SOUL. Play: How It Shapes the Brain, Opens the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul. Of all animal species, humans are the biggest players of all. We are built to play and built through play. When we play, we are engaged in the purest expression of our humanity, the truest expression of our individuality. Is it any wonder that often the times we feel most alive, those that make up our best memories, are moments of play? Write Stuart Brown. Thank you for listening to Happiness Index and we are continuing our conversation on hope and service. Hope is an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large. Vaclav Havel, former President of the Czech Rebubic said, Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out. We are convinced that everyone who gives of their time to serve others are deeply rooted in hope. Hope is an optimistic state of confidence and an anticipation that service is hope. It encourages to believe that your giving of yourself will make a difference. Hope is a cornerstone of volunteerism. Our focus today will be on the value of hope to inspire us to serve and how hope and service is a path to happiness. Thank you for listening to Happiness Index on Blog Talk Radio.
