    Polygamy Uncensored – Conversations With Kristyn Decker!

    Kristyn Decker was born and raised in polygamy. She was the 12th of her father’s and prophet’s 23 biological children. Her mother was the first of his 13 wives. While living polygamy and raising her seven children to believe the same, Decker taught off and on for 18 years in the Apostolic United Brethren’s private school. In 1991, with five of her 7 kids still at home, she volunteered in her youngest son’s Head Start class and began taking college courses. She was an assistant Head Start teacher for four years, while acquiring her AS degree, and then became a lead teacher for four more years. During and after this time Decker attended and sponsored in self-help groups, volunteered with Utah State School Age Child Care Association, and joined the Utah Children Association. In 1995 she began teaching CDA classes to Child Development Associate candidates at Children First and presented at Early Childhood conferences. Right after that, Kristyn wrote her own business plan and received a half million dollar SBA loan to start a kid’s college. She graduated in 2002 with a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood from Southern Utah University, and began teaching K – 2 in public schools.


     


    After Decker published her first book Fifty Years in Polygamy – Big Secrets and Little White Lies, she founded the Sound Choices Coalition, to inform society about the realities of polygamy and to advocate for its victims. While Decker’s second book; UNCENSORED FYIP has recently been published, she continues to speak, assist and coach victims, and work with other non-profit organizations who take a proactive approach to promote societies that are just and stable.    http://fiftyyearsinpolygamy.com/

    Jesinoski v. Countrywide TILA casebrief

    Federal Truth in Lending Law - United States Supreme Court Updates 2015


    The TILA case is Jesinoski v. Countrywide Home Loans.  The legal issue is what action is required by a borrower to be taken in order to rescind their mortgage loan where certain enumerated "material" loan violations exist in regard to the TILA statute.


    Attorney Steve discusses this interesting real estate law topic which held that a borrower does not need to actually file a lawsuit within three years to rescind their mortage loan, and rather, submitting a written notice to the creditor to rescind the loan is sufficient, if done within the three year period.
