The Washington Nationals scored 10 runs on 12 hits and avoided a sweep with a 10-5 win over the Boston Red Sox in the series finale in Fenway Park. Gio Gonzalez got the win, Ian Desmond and Tyler Moore homered. 10-5 final.
The Washington Nationals thrilled fans in Boston in an error-filled, ugly 9-4 loss to the Red Sox in the season opener in Fenway Park. Jordan Zimmermann was out early. Rick Porcello cruised. The Nats dropped to 2-5 with the loss. Matt Williams was not happy.
On this episode of the Yanks Go Yard Series Preview Show, brought to you by KNODA.com, host and senior staff writer Ricky Keeler recaps the Yankees taking two out of three from the Tampa Bay Rays and their 4-2 homestand. Plus, Ricky will react to the news that came out Tuesday night about Masahiro Tanaka being placed on the 15-day disabled list with wrist tendinitis and a forearm strain. Should New York make a big trade for a Cole Hamels or stick with their internal options for now?
Then, Drew Peabody from BoSox Injection joins the show to preview this weekend's series at Fenway Park between the Yankees and Red Sox as Alex Rodriguez is still looking for home run number 660. They will look back at the first Yankees-Red Sox series, discuss Boston's rotation issues, and look at the great start by Hanley Ramirez, who has 10 home runs on the season.

For More Info go to www.centralparknyc.org
but before we tell more about our exploration I would like to mention the location for todays show
we are live from the 805 Third Avenue (49th and 50th Street) - The Crystal Pavilion
www.untappedcities.com says: This tri-leveled lunch hotspot is best accessed at the street level via a wide, right-angled circulation corridor, which also connects the Third Avenue and East 50th Street entrances. The concourse level, reached by escalator near the Third Avenue entrance has the most amount of tables and services, and is the spot where during mid-day, when the sun comes bursting through the windows, one can look up and literally be dazzled by the space’s volume and design.

Aline Ohanesian on Orhan's Inheritance, a novel that shifts between the last years of the Ottoman Empire and 1990s Los Angeles. It tells the story a young Turkish man who leaves his family's small village, to travel to the US, to discover why his recently deceased grandfather bequeathed the family home to a woman his family has never heard of--a woman who lives in a facility for elderly Aremians. It's a novel that brings a neglected time in Turkish history to life, spanning decades, honoring the resilience of the human spirit and illustrating the depth of love.
Patricia Park on Re: Jane, a Korean-American retelling of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, set in Manhattan and Seoul. Its protagonist, Jane, is a an orphan trying to escape from Flushing, NY, where she works in her strict uncle’s grocery store before becoming the au pair, beginning an affair with the father of the children she cares for and then fleeing to Seoul. There, she reconnects with family and works to accept who she really is.
Kirstin Valdez Quade on her short story collection Night at the Fiestas. Set in northern New Mexico, the 10 stories plunge into the fierce, troubled hearts of characters defined by the desire to escape the past or else plumb into its depths: A deadbeat father of a pregnant teen who tries to transform his life by playing the role of Jesus; a young man who discovers that his estranged father and a boa constrictor have been squatting in his grandmother’s empty house; a lonely retiree who becomes obsessed with her housekeeper; and others.

Two fantastic interviews come your way, as we sit down with the New York Cosmos striker Lucky Mkosana, on the heels of his only goal that gave the Cosmos three points in their 1 - 0 win in Brooklyn over Ottawa this past weekend.
With Edmonton in town this week, the guys have the pleasure of interviewing the head coach of the Eddies, Colin Miller, who has had a tremendous career as both a player and coach, and if you listen to his advice, you can learn what he looks for in a player.
Get yourself ready for this weekend at Shuart Stadium, as the Cosmos welcome the Eddies to town, and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there who are special to all of us in their own way!
