The A's did their usual nose dive at Fenway. So we're here to talk about the ramifications of it. Has any chance of making this season worthwhile gone out the window?
We also talk about the great season that Sonny Gray has had up to this point. We'll give our thoughts on our young ace.
Billy Butler's dramatic slump will be a topic of discussion. Has this already been a flop signing from Billy Beane?
Our man Coreo will give us the update on the Texas Rangers. With the Rangers calling up super-prospect Joey Gallo, how is he feeling about the Rangers?
To finish out, we'll have a discussion about "collecting" in baseball. What makes you (the fan) collect what you collect? Whether it's baseball cards, autographs, bobbleheads, or memories. Why do you do it?
On tonight's episode, we first tackle the penalties to the crew members, handed down by NASCAR on Tuesday. No drivers were penalized, but crew chiefs for the 24 and 5 teams were. However, Paul Wolfe, cc for the 2 team and Brad Keselowski were not penalized at all. And neither was Kevin Harvick. We'll discuss whether or not, NASCAR got it right, and why they may have ruled the way they did.
Also, some big changes are taking place at Roush Fenway Racing in prominant positions at the team. Mark McArdle, formally of Richard Childress Racing and Furniture Row Racing will join the team. He will join the team as the engineering director. Also, Kevin Kidd will come over from Joe Gibbs Racing and join the organization as Sprint Cup Series team manager and will report to Robbie Reiser. We'll discuss these changes at the organization and how this may affect this team moving forward.
Also, we've got this week in NASCAR history, which takes us back to November 5, 1978 in the Dixie 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway where a scoring controversy, changed the winner while the driver was on his way home from the race...
Finally our picks to win this weekend in Phoenix and what we think the racing will be like.
And also, the racing patriarch of the Sauter family has passed away.
The Washington Nationals scored 10 runs on 12 hits and avoided a sweep with a 10-5 win over the Boston Red Sox in the series finale in Fenway Park. Gio Gonzalez got the win, Ian Desmond and Tyler Moore homered. 10-5 final.
On tonight's episode of Talking in Circles, Clayton and Brandon discuss the racing that took place today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway; and how Jeff Gordon becomes only the third driver in the history of NASCAR to reach the 90 win plateau. How Jeff got there, and of course our attaboys, and much more about the Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 @ the Brickyard.
Also, before the race, some big Silly Season news broke about Roush Fenway Racing. The worst kept secret in the garage area, Carl Edwards will officially be leaving the organization at the end of the 2014 season.
Edwards destination is believed to be Joe Gibbs Racing, but will not officially be announced until September.
Jack Roush has officially announced his driver lineup for 2015, and sponsor lineup as well. Clayton and Brandon will discuss what this move means for Roush Fenway Racing going forward.
The Washington Nationals thrilled fans in Boston in an error-filled, ugly 9-4 loss to the Red Sox in the season opener in Fenway Park. Jordan Zimmermann was out early. Rick Porcello cruised. The Nats dropped to 2-5 with the loss. Matt Williams was not happy.
Episode 28 Mon-December 3, 2012 8:30pm EST
This week's episode we give you one more small helping, let's call it a final side dish for the 2012 World's Toughest Mudder. I got a chance to speak with Bryce Wilk, a great competitor and a humble man. At lap 6 of WTM, he was one hour AHEAD of Jungyong Pak. Listen in to hear how his strategy ultimately failed and what he learned.
I also got a chance to talk to Todd Sedlak. The man who can't say no to a challenge. Even weeks after breaking an ankle, he was the only participant to run at the Spartan Fenway Park event and complete one lap at World's Toughest Mudder. This gives us a great chance to segueway from WTM to Fenway. Having a successful event in an enclosed environment like a stadium or dome is a game changer for obstacle racing. You'll her Todd's thoughts on that and a few other things.
Then Shaun Provost is going to call in to talk about her Fenway experience. She was the first place female finisher that weekend. She is also a recent age group top finisher in several other events and one of the few and proud Ultra Beast finishers.
As always, the chatbox is live so join in to ask questions or just be around other like minded folks. So jump on in!
This episode of Next Fan Up is dedicated to the NFL's decision to maintain Brady's suspension at 4 games. Patrick, the Patriot Superfan, defends his team's honor against the Ravens' Superfan (Rex), the new Dolphins' Superfan (Ron), and the Eagles' Superfan (Sitko).
Podvader calls with his son in on their ride home from Fenway to rant into the void - not to be missed.
