When you do something wrong, make a mistake, or say something that you know you shouldn’t have, do you immediately admit you were wrong, or do you practice avoidance, or even make excuses and rationalize your behavior? A lot of us, whether we admit it or not, fall into the latter category.
Many times, we knowingly do something wrong, or act in a manner that does not show us in our best light, and either because of embarrassment, or that we are simply head strong, we begin to rationalize our behaviors. We convince ourselves that it was the situation, or the actions of another, that caused us to behave in the way that we did. And if that hadn’t happened, we wouldn’t have said, or did, what we said or did. We give ourselves a free pass. We’re not wrong. We were provoked. Thus we were justified in our actions or our words.
In this podcast we will look at how our inability to admit when we are wrong is more of a sign of weakness than strength. We will learn that taking personal responsibility not only lifts a huge emotional weight off of our shoulders, it also tends to improve our relationships.
After a long absense because of health issues, I will be hosting again!
For this return episode,I really want to take the opportunity to share my story and get it all out. I contracted Lyme Disease last year and was finally diagnosed June of this year. It's been an unbelievable journey and I am slowly working toward remission.

Join Personal Development Coach, Tim Billiter for the very first weekly DIY for Your Soul Podcast. In this introductory podcast, you will learn more about Tim Billiter and what the DIY for Your Soul concept is all about.
Each podcast is approximately 15 minutes long and future episodes will cover a variety of self-help, self-improvement and personal growth topics.
The subject of each weekly DIY for Your Soul Podcast draws from a variety of topics and concepts that aim to assist you in constructing a true sense of well being for yourself. They are meant to be thought provoking, to challenge you in breaking free from old ideas and habits that inhibit your personal growth, and to provide you with tips and tools to foster new beliefs and behaviors that will keep you on a track of constant progression.
DIY for Your Soul is the name of Personal Development Coach, Tim Billiter’s coaching practice that is based on the idea that each of us, at our very core (our soul), is ultimately responsible for creating the life of our dreams and becoming the people we’ve always imagined ourselves being.
DIY simply refers to building, modifying, or repairing something though self-reliance; taking on the tasks oneself vs. having others complete them for us. And since most of us, at least at some point and time, find ourselves building, re-building, modifying or repairing portions of our lives, in essence, each of our lives is the ultimate DIY project.
And as for the Soul, it is not about any specific religious beliefs, spiritual practices or dogma It is referencing the life force that runs through you. It is about energy - the energy that we call life.

Does the idea of doing new things scare you, almost to point that you are paralyzed? Do you have ideas floating around in your head, and you’re sure they are really great, but you never do anything about them because you don’t know where to start? Do you know what you need to do next, but you’re stuck because you fear you’ll make a mistake, or you’ll fail?
If any of this describes you, don’t fret, you’re just one of many people in the same boat.
In this podcast, we will be talking about overcoming our fears of failure and not knowing, that often keeps us feeling like we’re in a rut. You’ll also hear from Teresa, who spent the better of 25 years in the investment banking industry, and then at 45, decided she wanted a new direction, to change course, and is now a student.
You’ll hear her tell you how she is able to do this, how she overcomes her fears and doubts, by simply taking actions, and letting go of the results.

We all have desires and aspirations. We have dreams for ourselves and what kind of lives we want to live. Many of us, however, aren’t quite sure how to go about creating those dreams.
This podcast delves into the concept that each of us is the architect of our respective lives. And to create our dreams, we must start by putting into place, a vision—the blueprint—of what you want your life to look like, and who we want to become.
You’ll discover just why this is so important, and walk away with some tips on drafting your own blueprint.

Are you someone who has trouble being happy if things don’t go your way?
In this podcast, we will address how human beings often have a hard time distinguishing desires from needs. We’ll discuss how we often move through life believing that we cannot be happy unless all of our desires are fulfilled.
We’ll talk about how this holds us back, and why getting everything you desire, isn’t always the best thing in the end anyway.

Do you tend to focus on the negative aspects of life? Are you more of a pessimist, or what some call a realist, more than an optimist? Many of us live our lives in various levels of fear and those fears color how we see the world. And negativity is one of the ways our minds attempt to protect us from those things we are afraid of. Negativity steers us away from taking chances and from uncertainties. But all of this comes at a price. And the cost is our failure to live the lives we truly desire, and being the person who we've always imagined ourselves being.
In this podcast we will be looking at how negativity has an overall negative affect on our lives and how we go about recognizing it in ourselves and then beginning to challenge it.

In this podcast, we will delve into the story that each of us carries around about ourselves; the story that we tell ourselves about ourselves and our place in the world. The Story of You, which essentially makes up your internal narrative, is the basis of your beliefs about yourself, and life itself. And it is those beliefs that dictate your thoughts, your choices and your actions. Thus your life directly reflects, The Story of You.

Although we all begin our lives with Brilliance, like most things in life that we hope will grow strong and expand, we need to foster that growth. We fuel our bodies, brains, relationships, and spirituality among many other aspects in life to sustain them. Brilliance blooms under similar nurturing type activities. What we eat, who we spend time with, the places our body and spirit connect with feeds our Brilliance. Most of know that our bank accounts fare much better if we put more in than we take out. I am not suggesting that you not share your Brilliance, but to replenish it and often to help it shine brighter!
Some key fuel points are:
Stillness/tranquility (Seek it regularly!)
Natural fresh foods (They increase your immune system by sharing the earth's spirit)
Joy & laughter (Find something to smile about at least 3x a day!)
Honoring Your thoughts (Avoid second guessing yourself)
Seeking holistic balance (Not suggesting you join a monastery)
Cook & Imbibe in something fun and the delectiable; it polishes Brilliance if dingy
Read or listen to uplifting words/sounds/wisdom
Remind yourself you are Brilliance with every reflection (Out loud or silently!)
Sometimes Brilliance requires a moment to step back from our daily activities to help it bloom. Take a day to honor your voice; let it rest part of the day. Take a digestive vacation a few hours or days by fasting. if you find yourself feeling out of sorts or start believing Brilliance has passed you by, take a break. However that break manifests for you, enjoy every second as you remind your Brilliance it always has the ability to shine. Join me for a little Brilliance! I look forward to watching yours shine! *artwork by Qwaisius Shaun Peterson
