Please note that around minute 45 we ran into some tech issues, and so we had to end the conversation. We'll continue the conversation in another conversation, which will include the rest of The Slants!
Co-host Kevin goes solo for this conversation with Simon Tam of The Slants, the greatest (only?) "Chinatown dance rock band." For a preview, check out this NPR conversation about the band, which has been fighting the man! www.onthemedia.org/story/why-cant-you-trademark-slur/

Do you often find yourself feeling lost, alone, overwhelmed and unsure how to help yourself, much less someone else in your family?
Would you like to see that someone else has walked this path, so you can? Me too. There is HOPE…
My name is Susan Burfoot Mead and I’ve been blessed to be married to my soul mate, Holt Mead, since 1979. I think the first 30 years we spent working on learning what soul mates are…Or should I ask him if we are still working on that?
I am the mother of two sons, Matthew, who lives in South Louisiana and Kyle, Forever 20 and in Heaven, where he is doing a Dance with Jesus. Kyle’s been there since March 29, 2008.
I wrote the book Dance With Jesus: From Grief to Grace as the answer to a question posed in the Experiencing God Bible Study I was in the midst of doing. The question asked was what does God want you to do, right now?
I heard deep in my spirit, “Sing My love song.” And laughed out loud. Seriously God, You will have to send me a bucket, because You KNOW I can’t carry a tune. Then the next deep spiritual nudge was, “What’s in your hand? Use it.” I was writing in the workbook, so a pen was in my hand…
I swept away the workbook, got out a clean journal and out the story poured. At 5:30 am, I looked up as I wrote the last words. The very first email I read later that day was from Proverbs 31 Ministries about their upcoming SheSpeaks 2013, a speakers and WRITERS conference. Seriously God? You WANT me to DO something with this? OK.
So the story begins…

Tonight on Incubi Incarnate Broadcast with your host Bill Bachman welcomes very special guest, the DAUGHTER of the PARANORMAL.......Alexandra Holzer! Join the interactive chat room on our website at www.incubiincarnate.com/iiblistenlive!
A century ago, renowned Parapsychologist Hans Holzer changed the face of paranormal research and investigation forever. And while the torch he lit is an essential one to carry, it’s an important point to note that it’s never ceased. This legacy and the lineage carries on thru myself as I help countless beings living and dead understand the field of Physical Research AKA...The PARANORMAL. As a testament to this legacy, Alexandra Holzer, daughter of the late Hans Holzer, has dedicated her research, her career, and so much of her life to ensuring that this torch not only keeps burning, but is propelled forward for future generations to see. And to call Alexandra a force of nature would not only be cliche, it just might be something of an understatement. Precious few in this world approach their work, or their legacy, with the voracity, passion and conviction that she clearly has in such abundance. To know Alexandra Holzer will not only give you a glimpse of the past, but an understanding of the future possibilities, and the promise, within the field of paranormal research and investigation.

Some of the first ways we learn about relationship dynamics are observing the relationships we grew up seeing, like the ones of our parents or guardians. Many times, we tend to believe our parent’s relationships or the relationship we had with them should be the outline of what a relationship should be and often times we end up mirroring similar qualities in our own romantic relationships. After all, learning starts at home, right? While it’s the norm to hear that women have daddy issues and men have mommy issues that is not always the case. Both men and women can have issues with both parents instead of one over the other. Negative relationships with a man and his father can impact him greatly as do a woman and her mother. For example, if a man didn’t have his father around to teach him how to be a man or if he grew up in a household watching his father abuse his mom, he may think physical abuse is a way to show ‘love’. So the issue remains, if a woman or man has mommy or daddy issues---can that delay them from finding ‘the one’? Men, if you found out your lady or woman of interest showed signs of having mommy-daddy issues will you continue to pursue her? But, if you truly found ‘the one’ and they had mommy-daddy issues wouldn’t you overlook it? Realistically, we all come with baggage; it’s finding ‘the one’ who is worth being with and how serious their baggage can impact your relationship. Find out what After Hourz have to say about parental issues and relationships! We want to hear from you! Listen! Call in! Share!
