The topic of family was a request by someone, not sure who it is was, but thank you for your suggestion!
Family is major aspect of our lives, whether positive or negative. Family unlike frienships or romantic relationships, we do not get to choose the structure we are born into. This is of course if you are seeing family as in bloodlines and biology/genetics (which is what I will be discussing).
Since this is the month of "Thankfulness" on the Inspiration for a Lifetime Facebook page, I thought this would be a good way to end the month also with Thanksgving approaching. I am not big on holidays as much as I used to since many of them are not too focused on God, but we can still give praise and thanks for having family. Even if family might not be a big deal to you or if you have not had good experiences, family is the avenue to which you are alive today.
Let's give God thanks for family this week.
LISTEN LIVE - 11/26/14 @ 7pm (PST) / 10pm (EST) - CALL (347) 237-5342
The holiday season can be a time of joy and togetherness or it can be a time of stress, conflict and family tension.
It’s important to realize that when families gather, members may not get along, causing tension and awkward interactions. One option is to avoid holiday gatherings altogether. However, this too can create conflict in the family. If one chooses to attend potentially difficult holiday gatherings and deal with the resulting stress and conflict, Lady Jaz will discuss some way to improve your coping strategies and successfully navigate the family holiday season.
Special guest: Tameka Dean from Baltimore, Maryland, will contribute her expert advice on coping with family feuds during the holiday season.

World AIDS Day, observed on December 1 every year, is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and commemorate people who have died. If you understand how HIV is transmitted, how it can be prevented, and the reality of living wih HIV today, you can use this knowledg to take care of your health and the health of others. You will also help ensure that everyone living with HIV is treated fairly, and with respect and understanding.
November's show will feature the book, One Family's AIDS, by host, J'son M. Lee. One Family’s AIDS is the story of Gene Alexander McCoy - a young, educated African-American man who finds himself in a race for time to make peace with his family and God upon being diagnosed with HIV. The story, told from four different perspectives, chronicles Gene's life as he confronts such issues as HIV/AIDS, family, abandonment and homophobia. With the help of his over-bearing mother, a nurturing grandmother, and an uncle who doesn't feel comfortable talking about Gene's sexuality or disease, we learn the complexities of love and relationships, the damaging results of fear and shame, and how the relentless quest for the truth ultimately leads us back to each other.
Our guest host will be Levon Putney, News Anchor/Reporter at WCBS 880 News.
