Sherrie Ashcraft and Christina Berry Tarabochia are an amazing mother-daughter duo. On the Threshold is their debut novel. This is a story full of family drama, love lost, a long-held secret, a police officer with something to prove, a facade that crumbles ... and so much more. Does fiction really mimic real life? Often. Depression adds to the struggles and there's a question as to whether trust can be rebuilt among the cast of characters. Maxine and Jeannie will have lots to talk about. Invite a friend to listen in.
Do you have a close family? Maybe some major disagreements have happened and your family is not as close as it should be. Join us as we talk about family dynamics...the psychology of the family. Join Ms. Mary, Saunta James & Wil the tech guy as we take a look at each member of "the family". Do you agree that family is who and what you make it? Call us and let us know!
Find the Right Time. If something is bothering you and you would like to have a serious conversation about it, make sure you pick the right time to talk. Don’t interrupt your partner when they’re watching a sports game, TV show, about to go to sleep or stressed about an upcoming test.
Talk Face to Face. Avoid talking about serious matters or issues in writing. Text messages, letters and emails can be misinterpreted. Talk in person so there aren’t any unnecessary miscommunications.
Do Not Attack. Even when we mean well, we can sometimes come across as harsh because of our word choice. Using "you" can sound like you're attacking,
Be Honest. Agree to be honest. Sometimes the truth hurts, but it’s the key to a healthy relationship.
Check Your Body Language. Make eye contact when speaking. Sit up and face your partner.
Use the 48 Hour Rule. If your partner does something that makes you angry, you need to tell them about it.
