Science vs Religion -- Write Stuff -- 5/5/2015

    in Entertainment

In the battle of ideas, this topic is one that represents the forces of good and evil, fantasy and reality, truth and lies...or does it? Is there really a battle between science and religion or is there more reason to believe they're allies?

Many naturalistic scientists seem to have taken up an holy cause to differientate intelligence from faith. Or, to put it another way, faith is a nebulous magical wand wielded by delusional people while intellect is the steadfast sun in the sky to view the world. Young people especially reject religion saying, "Science says this and that's why I don't believe in God in anymore." Cue dramatic music...science has won the victory again.

But is that really the case? It is becoming more apparent that science and religion are not diametrically opposed to each other. In fact, they both provide each other the proper foundation in understanding the world. There's a lot to this topic so we'll be sitting down and chatting with my guest co host Trevor Slone -- author of Science vs. Religion. You can call in at 646-595-2083, press 1 to be live on air. Or, you can download the WLUV radio mobile app today. Tune in!

"Religion in the LGBT Community" presented by LGBT Real Talk Radio

    in Blogs

Religion has been a source of both solace and suffering for many lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans. For while most LGBT Americans have been raised in an organized religion — and many continue to cherish their faith community — too many have been forced to leave those communities behind because of condemnation of LGBT people.

And yet in recent years, a growing number of organized religious groups in the United States have issued statements officially welcoming LGBT people as members. Many religious organizations also have taken supportive stands on the issues that affect LGBT people in America, such as the fight for freedom from discrimination, the solemnizing of same-sex marriage and the ordination of openly LGBT clergy.

LGBT Real Talk Radio welcomes the Rev. Valarie Oliver as our special guest for next weeks show on Religion in the LGBT Community. You won't want to miss this very informative show.
