It's that time of year, for most of us anyway, when we battle the elements of cold and snow to enjoy the night sky. I'll share equipment and techniques that will help you enjoy the crisp, clear nights this winter under the stars.
In addition, I'll be talking about some wonderful eyepieces in this months Product Showcase: Olivon Eyepieces. Never heard of them? Don't worry, they are a new comer for astronomical accessories, and I'll share my thoughs on the line-up of eyepieces I was fortunate enough to be asked to evalaute.
I'll also give you a review of an Android app for Lunar observers called Lunar Map Lite. All this and plenty of new product release talk, on this episode of At The Eyepiece.
I have to admit, I have fallen in love with my Kindle App for Android. The app has certainly invigerated my reading, and for this episode, I'll share just a few of my latest astronomical readings for this episode.
I discussed the Coronado SolarMax II before, as a brief impression. This episode I'll continue that story with a bit more information, and first hand experience with this dedicated Hydrogen-Alpha telescope.
Tonights product showcase will be the Meade Series 5000 24mm 2" Ultra-Wide Angle Eyepiece (whew, what a mouthful).
All this, and of course new product discussions on this episode of At The Eyepiece.
Tonight I thought it would be interesting to share one of my most recent observing session that I recorded via a digital voice recorder. I really enjoy using this method at times, and I hope that you find it intersting as well. This is something new, and I would love to know if you enjoy hearing my observing reports like this. You can download this episode, sync to your favorite mp3 player, bring it out to your scope and listen as I describe my view, and you can compare it to yours!
As always, we are open to discussing telescopes, eyepieces, mounts and more, on tonights episode of At The Eyepieces.
NEW time and NEW day - Sunday's at 7pm CST
It's that time of year again when we're visited by all kinds of ghosts, ghouls, princesses and tinker-bells vying for sweet treats at every door. Why not treat them to some "spooky" celestial showpieces and use the opportunity to perform some astronomy outreach! This year may not be the best time to present the Moon, only a thin crescent will be visible. Jupiter would be grand, but probably rises too late for most to view. But don't fret, there are still PLENTY of objects visible to show case, and I'll discuss my favorites during this show.
All of this and your observing reports, telescope talk, eyepieces, mounts and more, on the next At The Eyepiece Show.
Its that time of year again, the International Observe the Moon Night is tomorrow, October 8th. I'll be discussing this event, observing the moon in general, and some interesting objects to point out of new observers.
Also tonight I'll be discussing my latest equipment review, the Apertura AD12. I was graciously offered this 12" f/5 Dobsonian by OpticsMart for the purpose of giving it a review, so I'll be discussing how that went tonight. All of this, and of course other conversions regarding observing, telescopes, eyepieces, mounts and more.
