Today I have a special guest. He is Charles Chamberlain. Who is Charles Chamberlain?
Charles Chamberlain, is Executive Director of Democracy for America. He joined Democracy for America in 2006 as Political Director, where he led campaigns for the public option and against telecom immunity for spying on Americans as well as endorsements of controversial primary candidates against Sen. Joe Lieberman, Sen. Blanche Lincoln, and Rep. Al Wynn. He also directed DFA's successful campaigns to stop the Republican War on the Working Families in Wisconsin and Ohio. In January of 2012, Charles became the Executive Director of Progressive Congress, the foundation for the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Charles rejoined DFA as Executive Director in August of 2013 and leads the strategic direction of the DFA team.
Before DFA, Charles spent over a decade grassroots organizing and directing statewide campaigns in 17 states for direct democracy initiatives and referendums working with the AFL-CIO, SEIU, Americans for Medical Rights, and others in fights ranging from funding early childhood development and protecting civil liberties to defending collective bargaining rights and raising the minimum wage. He's also served on staff for Assemblymember Scott Wildman in California's 43rd as the community organizer responsible for revitalizing in-district resident associations, neighborhood watches, and PTA's.
Today we will discuss Elizabeth Warren.
Karen A. Lehman is the Executive Director of the Episcopal Actors' Guild of America (EAG). Founded in 1923, EAG is a charitable organization that provides emergency assistance and career support to local, professional performers "of all faiths, and none."
Professionally, Karen has spent her time pursuing two passions: being of service and the performing arts. After graduating from the University of Delaware, Karen worked in Student Affairs for both SUNY and Pennsylvania State University, as well as with Libetae, a woman's halfway house in her home state of Pennsylvania.
During this time, Karen also continued to perform on stage, eventually moving to New York to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, and working as an actress for several years after that.
In 2006, Karen's two passions were brought together in one job when she was hired as the Assistant Director of EAG. Shortly after, in 2008, Karen was named Executive Director. Under her leadership, EAG has greatly expanded its programs and services to include The Headshot Project (free, professional headshots for clients of EAG) and The Actors' Pantry, which provides groceries to EAG clients and their families.
As Executive Director, Karen has also established a very active volunteer program as well as a successful program for Young Professionals.

A graduate of the Community Leadership program at Aquinas College, Elissa’s commitment to West Michigan is rooted in the belief that locally owned businesses are critical in driving the economy and supporting the community. Today, that philosophy has achieved significant results, as Local First’s membership has grown from just 150 local businesses in 2007, to more than 800 local businesses in 2015. Led by Elissa Hillary, Local First has attracted national media recognition for its efforts, and is regarded as the premier organization advocating for local businesses in the Midwest."
Heather Pollock, Executive Director of Girls Think Tank joins @bge_radio to discuss how the organization is on a mission to inspire, empower, and organize our community to advance basic human dignity.
