The Frazer Center is an inclusive community where people at all levels of ability and disability gather, learn and flourish together.
This is the backstory of The Frazer Center- The life of a young couple is often the stuff of dreams: the places they may live, the journeys they may take, the children they may have. In 1948, this was the story for one of our founding families, the Lanes.
Their lives took an unexpected turn, however, when their daughter was born with cerebral palsy. Together with their dear friends the Frazers, the Lanes searched for a program for their daughter. Feeling frustrated and saddened by what they saw, they created the Cerebral Palsy School for six children at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in 1949. Two years later, the Frazers and Lanes were able to acquire the former estate of Cator Woolford (founder of the Retail Credit Company, now Equifax), thirty-nine acres located in the heart of Druid Hills. Renamed REACH in 1989 and The Frazer Center in 1999, our historic mission to offer research-based education, vocational support, and therapeutic intervention to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families is still the heart of our work today. Leadership starts in many areas of our lives, whether at home as an older sibling, being called out by your teacher as the leader in a group assignment, or being the girl or boy who gets to pick the team and/or assignments in a friendly game of double-dutch or basketball. Everyone in this lifetime will have the opportunity to lead at some point. However, just because you are called upon to lead doesn’t always mean you do it effectively. Therefore, it is vital for anyone who aspires to be a leader, to learn their leadership style and become aware of their boundaries. On today’s show we will feature our very own Club Growth Director, Netania Walker, DTM who will provide insight on “Defining Your Ledge,” in a leadership organization how do you find your leadership style and embrace it. Tune in!! Host Mary Logan

AASLOFFICERS LESLIE PREDDY, AUDREY CHURCH AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SYLVIA KNIGHT NORTON ARE OUR GUESTS
The Joyful Wellness Guru, Sue Hirsch, interviews Yalila Espinoza of Mind Your Heart
Hi, I'm Dr. Yalila Espinoza, an intimacy coach for workaholics who want to leap into love. For the last 15 years I have been guiding seekers to make practical life changes so their desires can become a reality.
Writer/director horror master Wes Craven spoke with host Robin Milling for the film The Serpent and The Rainbow starring Bill Pullman. In this interview from 1988, Wes revealed to Robin his inspiration for Freddie Kruger, the star of Nightmare on Elm Street and how some of his films came straight out of his personal nightmares.
He tells Robin about his own intrigue, fears and curiosities about death and the macabre, 'there's an age old fascination with death. It's one of those truly unsolved mysteries. Since it's something we're all moving towards and know in the back of our minds that we're going to face; I think that even at the level of a child you're fascinated by it and the ultimate finality of it. When you see a scary movie you're somehow relieved that you survived it. But ultimately it brings everybody down; even the most powerful and the weakest.'
Surprisingly, Wes told Robin he would like to do a comedy, even a love story. No matter the genre, Wes will live on in the movies; always to be remembered for his uncanny abilities to frighten the old and the very young.
