Myeloma Crowd Radio/MCRI: Dr. Hermann Einsele, MD and Dr. Michael Hudecek, MD

    in Health

CAR T cell therapy is a new and exciting potential treatment approach in blood cancers. It is a highly personalized treatment because the patient's own T-cells are redirected to erradicate cancerous cells after a single infusion, allowing patients to avoid the chronic side effects of long-term, toxic chemoradiotherapy. Learn more about Dr. Hermann Einsele, MD and Dr. Michael Huedecek, MD's work at the University of  Würzburg, Germany to use a CAR T cell therapy targeting the CS1 protein commonly found on myeloma cells.

Musical Euphoria: Tribute To Michael Anthony Bass Player Music By Chickenfoot

    in Rock Music

But if Hagar’s correct, Anthony may eventually return to his old job in Van Halen, essentially reuniting the group’s original lineup for the first time since 1985. (Although if you want to get technical, the quartet recorded two new songs for 1996’s ‘Best Of – Volume 1’ compilation together.) Guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang has filled the bassist role for the band since Anthony’s departure.

“My guess is, if you want me to make one prediction, I think that Michael Anthony will be back in that band because they really need to do that. If they’re going to serve the fans and ever do what the fans really want right now, if it’s going to be Dave, then it’s gotta be Mike. too. It’s gotta be the original band, and that’s the way it should be. Nothing against Wolfie — I love the guy; he was a sweet kid, grew up, I saw him when he was born for God’s sake — but they need to do that and my prediction is they will.”

    Leslie Lewis: Actress, Writer, Producer

    in Movies

Rising star Leslie Lewis drops by to talk about her key role in With Child, an indie gem of a film nominated for Best World Showcase at the 2015 SoHo International Film Festival. She will also discuss her other acting experience and projects. Her film credits include: Dead Broke, Starving Hysterical Naked, Almost in Love, The Better Man, Chaos Theory, Area Q, and Locked in a Garage Band. However, Leslie is probably best known for creating and starring in Miracle in Rwanda, a one-woman live show based on the life of Immaculée Ilibagiza, who survived the Rwandan genocide in 1994. Over 10,000 theatergoers in six continents have seen the show. This talented actress also played Dorothy Dandridge in another one-woman show titled Yesterday Came Too Soon at the National Black Theatre in Harlem.

Leslie’s role in With Child is her first appearance as a lead in a feature film. This unique movie tells the touching story of a widowed construction worker trying to rebuild his life as a single dad while struggling with the romantic advances of his eccentric new employer (played by Leslie). "When I read the script, I thought it would be a good fit for my first film as lead producer," Leslie explains. "I love the message of the film: What we choose now affects our past.”
