Mateo wasn’t always singing the same tune. Born into a musical family, the Cincinnati, OH native witnessed the trials and tribulations endured by the musicians in his family and decided to travel a different path. Yet after graduating from college and spending a year at a normal 9-5 job, he found his heart yearning for more. He started writing/recording music and performing during his off hours which he often referred to as his “5-9.” Match set and fire brewing, Mateo soon packed up and moved to LA to pursue his 5-9 passion full-time…
Mateo first gained recognition and popularity through the release of several mixtapes. Garnering over a million views on YouTube, he solidified a fan base eager for his material. Intrigued by his sound and authentic voice, Grammy-award winning producer Kerry “Krucial” Brothers (Alicia Keys, Nas, Drake) took notice and soon began working with the young artist, helping him to mold his style. Also impressed was R&B star, Alicia Keys, who joined Mateo on “Say Its So,” from the Love & Stadiums II mixtape, becoming one of his biggest supporters.
Mateo has since witnessed the success of his October 2012 release, Suite 823 (Krucial Noise/Interscope Records) and is fresh off his first national tour, where he opened for Keyshia Cole and Chrisette Michele. Showing no signs of letting up, he will release his latest single and video, “How Good Is Your Love,” just in time for the summer. Showing no signs of letting up, Mateo will release an EP titled We’ve Met Before on August 13.

Several of you are also aware of recent news tidbits about Dave Gibson's work - causing concern of just what
is happening.... Dave will join us to discuss how his reporting efforts and patriotic stand now had garnered the
attention of the Federal Government and ICE - all in an attempt to silence the truth.
Who Knows........... seeing that Dave continues to report and I continue to share many of these disgusting and
preventable crimes with you on the show.......maybe this ICE Agent and DHS (who has previously listened to
The Ruthie Report) will tune in as well.
The Total Tutor will interview The Executive Director of The Josh Gibson Foundation and Great Grandson of Josh Gibson, Sean Gibson. Sean will discuss the components of the foundation.
Sean L. Gibson is the great-grandson of Baseball Hall of Fame legend Josh Gibson. Sean has dedicated his life to the preservation of Josh's legacy and is the Executive Director of the Josh Gibson Foundation, a Pittsburgh area non-profit organization. The Josh Gibson Foundation was established in 1994 in an effort to keep the memory of Pittsburgh's beloved Josh Gibson and the entire Negro League alive. The foundation partners with Duquesne University by matching up college students with elementary and middle school youth for tutoring. The foundation also sponsors the Josh Gibson Little League.
There is likely no greater expert on the history of the Negro Leagues than Sean who speaks to a variety of groups throughout the year teaching on the significance of these great men who played the game before Jackie Robinson integrated baseball in 1947.
Josh Gibson, the man that many regard as the greatest Negro League player ever, was born on December 21, 1911 in Buena Vista, Georgia. He relocated to southwestern Pennsylvania in 1924 after his father found work in a Pittsburgh area steel mill. Josh began catching for the Pittsburgh Crawfords in 1927. With the addition of Gibson, the Crawfords rose to the top of the city's sandlot teams and challenged Cumberland Posey's Homestead Grays, a stellar club of Black professional baseball players from across the nation.
During Gibson's career, he played ball with Hall of Famers Oscar Charleston, Cool Papa Bell, Judy Johnson, and Satchel Paige. The Homestead Grays won an unprecedented nine consecutive Negro National League pennants with Gibson behind the plate.
Starborn Support Radio this week will be replaying one of our best interviews, done so well by my friend and colleague Chris Augustin. We will be listening to "willie "Windwalker" Gibson. This was a very good, intense show, and we feel, as we celebrate the birthday of our beautiful country, it is prudent that we replay Willie's episode.
Thank you all for your patronage, your support, and your friendship which energises us along our path to the truth. Starborn Support radio wishes all of our people out there to have a glorious 4th of July, and remember our founding fathers, and all of the veterans over the centuries that gave their allegiance and kept us free.
RIB Radio talks with actress Mikala Gibson
Presently Mikala is working on her one woman show, I Surrender. She is excited about her most recent projects, Wolf, which is currently on itunes for purchase and Dawn… A woman who is recently released from prison struggles to readjust to life on the outside, while suffering with severe institutionalization.
The Kevin Love rumors seem to be swirling with not only Golden State and Cleveland in the mix, but now the Chicago Bulls as well. A deal including Taj Gibson, Jimmy Butler and a number of other assets appear to be what the offer will consist of. What will Chicago have to give up for Love? Would it be worth it to have a big three of Derrick Rose, Love and Joakim Noah without much depth - Or should Chicago keep the deepest team in the Eastern Conference that it already has?
I reported this morning that the Chicago Bulls have made an offer of Nikola Mirotic, TajGibson, and Doug McDermott to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Kevin Love.
Naturally, this was big news in Chicago -- especially since it comes one day after both McDermott and Mirotic signed their rookie contracts. They cannot be traded for another 29 days.
I talked about the Bulls' offer, and how it stacks up against other teams' offers, in this interview with the Carman & Jurko Show on ESPN1000 in Chicago.
