INTERVIEW GUEST: Marsha Reeves Jews, CEO of the Bissell Street Group, noted Speaker, Talk Show Host and the Director of Events for the Herbert Bearman Community Art Gallery.
This Week’s Message: An event planner is, quite simply, someone who organizes an event. When we think of an event we may think of something spectacular, such as the Super Bowl, the Presidential Inauguration, New Year’s festivities in Times Square, or any of the other major events we hear about or see on television. Of course, event planners are needed for all these events. However, event planners also work on thousands of smaller events. Any time people gather together for a purpose, whether it is for a wedding, a conference, a festival, a formal dinner, or the grand opening of a new store, someone is needed to oversee all the details to ensure the event happens and that it is a success. Can you juggle many things at once without missing the details? Are you results oriented but always cautious of the bottom line? If this describes you, then you might have what it takes to become an event planner.
For over 20 years, Marsha Reeves Jews has successfully led her consulting firm, the Bissell Street Group, to international prominence in Business Development, Marketing, Trade Show Management, Awards Ceremonies Production and Events/Meetings/Conference Planning. She has worked with a myriad of companies and in diverse leadership capacities. Her leadership roles have included: Owner of ZZAJ Art Gallery in Harlem; Vice President of Operations for the Modern Day Marine Force in Readiness Exposition; Executive Director of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre Foundation of Maryland; President/COO/Associate Publisher of the Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology Magazine and the Black Engineer and Information Technology Magazine; and Producer of the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference.

The most influential people in my life were my dad, a small business owner and my mother a housewife, mother, and minister of the Gospel. Life was happy and safe as I grew up during the 1960's and 1970's. Our home was full of prayer, laughter, love, and peace. Not until I stretched my wings and launched out into my own marriage, did I understand the perils of life. With the enclusion of all the challenges I experience in life, I felt compelled to write 'Pearls & Pigs; The Backslider's Journey Home", in hope to inspire, encourage, or perhaps forewarn anyone that may be walking down the same path I treaded. I admonish you to take claim of your personal value and never exchange it for anything else, no matter what.

Calling all Patriots!
We invite you to join us for a special AmericanPatriotRadio.com event Friday, November 21, 2014. We will be doing a tribute to the memory of our 35th president, John F. Kennedy.
We won’t be doing a rehash of the thousands of theories, yet to be fully explained, of the circumstances surrounding his untimely death, but rather a celebration of his life,.
We will be discussing his accomplishments, his great initiatives, his disappointments, and for sure what it was like living in the U.S.A. during his administration during those seemingly magical 1000 Days of Camelot!
We will have audio clips and music and historical information that hopefully will bring you back to some good memories, in a time that most historians believe was the end of our innocence as a people and as a nation.
Plan to join us to share a smile, shed a tear, and for those of us who were there over half a century ago, just remember what it was like to experience the good feelings we had for the future.
There are those who will still say on Saturday morning that time travel is impossible; those are the people who obviously didn’t hear our show Friday night! LOL
Don’t be one of those scientifically uninformed people, plan to join us and enjoy being transported back to a time when life was simpler and hearts were filled with hope and optimism for the future.
