How Will New Imaging Techniques & Genomic Tests Help In Diagnosis & Management

    in Health

Recent advances in prostate cancer has led to the discovery of many new imaging and genomic tests. Information on the new tests and techniques can help patients in making informed decisions regarding their prostate cancer diagnosis, treatments and management options and thereby contribute towards managing their disease efficiently and effectively. We are talking to prostate cancer expert Dr. David Lee of UPENN to better understand how the new techniques can help in making these decisions.

David I. Lee, MD, is Chief of the Division of Urology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Urology, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Lee was Director of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery with Urology Associates of North Texas, the largest urology private practice group in the country. He specializes in robotic surgery including robotic prostatectomy. Fellowship-trained and having served as an instructor for many physicians across the country in robotic prostatectomy, he is one of the nation's foremost practitioners of the procedure. Dr. Lee currently serves as an active member of the American Urological Association, the Endo-urological Society and the American Medical Association. He holds editorial positions with a number of medical publications, including Journal of Endo-urology, Urology and European Urology. Mike "Mish" Shedlock--Is the US In Recession? #2965

    in Finance

Mish Shedlock joined us today for an unvarnished look at the US and World Economies. And it ain't pretty. European banks are in a world of pain, with non-performing loans out of control and getting worse, especially in Italy. Employment numbers are weakening as we speak. We might very well be in a recession now, but we probably won't know for another year, when the powers that be tell us what we already know.
