#Killed4aTweet - The suspicious death of Don Dunphy

    in Politics

Don Dunphy was seriously injured as a young worker. He would spend the rest of his life in pain and poverty because of it. Despite that, he raised his daughter Meghan from the age of three as a single father after his wife died suddenly. Don was an activist and a thorn in the side of government, rebuking them for their dismal treatment of injured workers. That cause led to his death.

Don was effective on social media calling officials out to answer for their actions, specifically on twitter. In his own home on Easter Sunday 2015, he was shot dead by a single plainclothes police officer, a member of Premier Paul Davis' security detail, who was there to investigate a tweet. The investigation has been ongoing for 7 months but nothing has been said to the Dunphy family or the public. An election looms in Newfoundland and Labrador as calls for a public inquiry into this shocking death grow.

Patrick Corbett is a producer, director and writer of film and television with decades of experience. W-5, Dateline, History TV and documentaries have been his forte. A website and a gofundme to generate funding for a documentary about Don Dunphy, the workers' compensation system and political interference in his death, have been established and are listed below.

Erin Breen is a lawyer specializing in Charter defense cases who is representing the Dunphy family. She also works to overturn wrongful convictions, pro bono. Erin will tell us the process in this investigation, where that is currently, and possible avenues going forward for justice.

Audrey Wade is the chairperson of the Don Dunphy Community Coalition, which is calling for a public inquiry into the death of Don Dunphy. This group demands to know why there is still no report from authorities. Audrey has close realtions and history with the Dunphys. She will tell us about them.
