BOYCOTT HOLIDAY INN and NEW RESTRICTIONS ON ASSET FORFEITURE LAWS

    in News

The recent memo from the Attorney General’s office baring local and state police from using federal asset forfeiture law to seize cash, cars and other property without warrants or criminal charges represents the most sweeping check on police power to confiscate personal property since the seizures began three decades ago as part of the war on drugs. Our first guest is Omar Figueroa, a Sebastopol lawyer who has been involved in many precedent setting marijuana cases as well as in the politics of marijuana prohibition. Attorney Figueroa will explore the ramifications of this new memo and take a look at how this will affect medical marijuana patients especially in light of the feds new hands off policy in medical marijuana states.

A lawsuit filed by the anti-drug group Safe Streets and three other plaintiffs including the owners of Holiday Inn target a number of Colorado lawmakers, including Gov. John Hickenlooper (D), Revenue Department Executive Director Barbara Brohl and Marijuana Enforcement Division Director W. Lewis Koski. Going a step beyond simply suing the state, the plaintiffs are also going after participants in Colorado's commercial marijuana industry. Citing federal racketeering laws, the plaintiffs are seeking damages due to alleged injury brought on by legalization.

The Marijuana Policy Project is not taking this legal action lightly and has called for a boycott of Holiday Inn Hotels. MPP Communications Director Morgan Fox is the show’s second guest who will take a look at the lawsuit and explain how the boycott will be carried out.

The Spirit Alive Praise & Worship Experience: Message For The Hurting

    in Religion

The Spirit Alive Praise & Worship Experience is a virtual church where we are standing in the gap for those who can't go, or won't go into the building by providing a safe and loving atmosphere where they can simply hear the word of God, and truly be encouraged, healed, restored, and transformed.  So, if you can't go, or won't go to a local church; the church will come to you.

Message: A Message For The Broken And Hurting

    Text: John 10:9-11

More than anything else, God wants His creation of mankind to be all it can be! That includes our being joyful, blessed, knowledgeable and in love; in love with Him. The last thing He wants is for us to be bogged down with troubles and fear. Throughout the Bible, we see where He is active in helping us, rescuing us, and reaching out to us in every possible way.

WHEN RELIGION FAILS THE OCCULT FEEDS

    in Lifestyle

Not to qibble but for centuries the argument has been out there for all to consider.  Is occult study the result of religion failing? Add the tincture of time to an occult topic and it becomes safe, even commonplace.  What just happened? Are we smarter? Is that insight?  Have we learned something?  If we expect faith to answer ethical questions of life, we find ourselves drawn to a secular atmosphere- democracy. With all the deceits and conceits of man, whether we will it into existence or cannot see it, it comes.

Masonry came along at a time when Europe had paid the horrible price of intolerance. But the lessons of those days have faded. We don't think anymore about the Peace of Westphalia that set in motion the world order in place today. Lessons needed to confirm the ethics of a 21st century freemason need contemporary relevance; adding recent history to the conversation prepares the Craft for that day 100 years ahead. The balance we promote- between past, present and future is undoubtedly platonism- metaphysical.  And now, 21st century man, considers a world bereft of gods and devils and looks into the abyss to define the appetite for consciousness unable to lean on superstitions.   Nothing is off the table. It is for a reason that masons have held this middle ground of being and becoming.  What do they see?

The world may be a dangerous jungle but there is a choice whether one lives in fear or not as history repeats itself. Is the mind the safe sanctuary? Even masons acknowledge the existence of the occult in intimate corners in small groups while the very idea continues to upset others, whether we understand a concept, it exists.

The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab - The Rise Fall and Rebirth of Willie Mays Aikens

    in Sports

"The Mad Scientist of Sports" Nick Ficorelli returns. However, this is not the average everyday sports show he is bringing back to the air waves. "The Mad Scientist" has created his own personal sports lab, and you, the audience, as well as many of his special guests, will be his test subjects. He will throw theories out, and you never know where they will be coming from. He will keep everyone guessing, and he will open his lab to any and all comers. Be prepared for "mad science" of sports at its best.

This week is a special epsiode of The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab, as at 10pm, he welcomes Kansas City Royals legend Willie Mays Aikens into the lab. Aikens was once one of the most feared hitters of the late 1970' and early 1980's with the Royals, helping lead Kansas City to the AL pennant in 1980. However, drugs overcame him, and he ended up in prison for almost 20 years. However, since his release in 2008, Aikens has has spoken at schools about his experiences and to the Royals’ young players, always hoping to return to baseball. In November 2008, apologized to Royals fans and the people of Kansas City in the Kansas City Star. In 2011, he returned to the Royals Family in the organization, and has since wrote a book about his rise, fall and rebirth "Safe At Home". As an extra added attraction, JP Muzio, former host of The Sports Ministry and Off The Wall, will be joining me on the interview.

Also appearing this week - 1030pm, Andrew Garda of NJ.com and Bleacher Report to talk some New Jersey college sports (Rutgers, Seton Hall and more); 11pm, Derek Helling of Outside Pitch MLB returns to preview the American League West; 1130pm, Matt Zemek of The Student Section to talk some NCAA Basketball and a Preview to March Madness.

The beacons are lit, the experiments are set, and "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab" is open for study!!!
