"Give It a Rest" (Jory Fisher & Jennifer Miller)

    in Relationships

It’s not surprising to hear that we are, as a culture, completely stressed out. Technology has made our lives easier, but not any simpler. We can now get twice as much done in the same amount of time. Our schedules are now inundated with commitments, obligations, and expectations. We live in a hamster wheel of perpetual striving. Consider the toll that it takes on your health and well-being, as well as on your relationships.

In this episode, Jory and Jennifer explore this all-too-common problem and consider ways to find some balance. They discuss the idea of a “Sabbath principle” that incorporates rest into your daily or weekly schedule. What are the risks of over-working and what are the benefits of intentionally resting? How can you possibly build rest into your life? Join them as they share how self-care is anything but selfish.

Pastor, counselor, and author Jennifer Miller has dedicated herself to helping people strengthen their faith and their relationships. She currently serves as Co-Executive Director for The Center for Living Well, a faith-based wellness center, and her book “No Longer Two” is now available on Amazon. A professional coach and former attorney, Jory Fisher specializes in helping Christian leaders and entrepreneurs make the difference they're called to make and glorify God through success. Visit www.JoryFisher.com for more info, inspiration, and guidance.

BISHOP MICHAEL PATTERSON "The Presence of God" on Faith Restoration Ministries - Dr. Barbara

    in Religion

We have all seen and heard from TELE-Evangelists Now we have REALITY-Evangelists who have distorted the word of God and  violated the principles of true Christianity. Those persons have brought reproach to the Holy Name of Jesus Christ by pretending to be His ministers. They are seducers and are leading thousands astray and into the bosom of hell. Do you want to hear the true doctrine of Jesus Christ? Do you want to hear preaching to help you in your Christian walk? Come and listen to Bishop Patterson as he presents the truth of God's word concerning holy living and righteousness.

Too many of those so-called preachers are only acting for the sake of filthy lucre not caring about their souls and those of the people they are deceiving. Surely indeed God will judge them in His own time. The word tells us that evil men and seducers [impostors] will continue [2 Timothy 3:13].

118th PROGRESSING IN GOD 74 - BY ENTERING HIS REST AND ALLOWING GOD

    in Christianity

Let us commune with God.We thereby learn how to enter into his rest. Several definitons fitting this; Rest - a peace of mind or spirit, something used for support. So as we rest in God or enter his rest; he becomes that object of support. We realize or walk in his peace, the struggle is over we are living his purpose through Christ, not through ourselves, not through the labels we have allowed people to put on us. We realize his word is simple and true as we trust him and it.

God directs our lives and we don't even realize it because our focus is off. This creates the greatest struggle because it determines what we see and hear. But if we follow his word, truth, we enter his rest. It aligns our focus with his will and purpose and truth.

"Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief."

Faith to Conquer Fear: Moving from Here to There

    in Christianity

Join Christy Demetrakis and her special guest, Pastor Eric Petree of Citygate Church Tuesday, April 14th at 6:30pm EST for "Faith to Conquer Fear: Moving from Here to There."

    About Pastor Eric Petree:

Eric Petree is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and the Pastor of CityGate Church Cincinnati (formerly Towne Worship Center). The son of Leon Petree, a highly respected evangelist and the founder of Towne Worship Center, attended Rod Parsley’s World Harvest Bible College in Columbus, Ohio. After graduation, Pastor Eric felt the call of God to return to his home town after graduation to serve as the Associate Pastor at the church he grew up in. He and his wife, Kimberly, were installed as Senior Pastors of the Towne Worship Center in October 2007.

Since becoming Pastor, the church has doubled in size each year. When Pastor Eric published his book, Final Destination, in September 2012, it was the equivalent of planting a spiritual seed. As a result, in September 2013, Pastors Eric and Kimberly recognized CityGate’s need for even more space to receive an increased harvest. In March 2014, CityGate Church launched a satellite campus north of Cincinnati’s city limits in West Chester, Ohio.

Outreach is at the core of Pastor Eric’s vision, and under his leadership, CityGate Church has permanently affected Cincinnati through its authentic outreach and evangelical approach to  sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Eric’s online ministry reaches past the City of Cincinnati and flows into third-world countries around the globe.

Pastor Eric Petree is the honored husband of a fearless wife, a proud father of an incredibly talented daughter, a passionate and compelling preacher, and a willing shepherd who faithfully guides God’s sheep.
