Getting teenagers to exercise can be a daunting task. After all, with the computer and Internet, television, video games and other sedentary temptations, the idea of getting up and moving around can be less than appealing. However, it is important for teens to exercise. The American Heart Association identifies physical inactivity as risk factor for several health problems - www.teenhelp.com
Today we would like to remind you to to Stay Fit this Summer 2014
This Summer Marquel and I have walked miles thats right we have commited to morning, evening and night walks.
We remind you of the Michele Obama Lets Move Program that we have cited in the past committed to children to keep fit by dancing, eating right , walking , sports, and running etc..
Lets Move...Get Active - Offering parents the tools and information they need to make better decisions about their
children's nutrition. Also working to Improving the accessibility and affordability of healthy foods. Last but not least Physical activity -- increasing opportunities for kids to play and move.
Get your community government involved - Mayors and community leaders can promote physical fitness by working to increase safe routes for kids to walk and ride to school; by revitalizing parks, playgrounds, and community centers; and by providing fun and affordable sports and fitness programs.
Let’s Move! supports the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA+) challenge, which helps individuals commit to regular physical activity and healthy eating -- and rewards them for it.

Should education be an around the clock endeaver? Or should it be over at school's dismissal? Let's talk about it! The Back to School Series rolls on with this engaging topic and a wonderful Special Guest who teaches first grade and has six children of her own! Call us at (516) 387-1755
We as a society teach our female children "don't get raped" yet we seem to fail to teach our male children "don't rape". How did we reach this disconnect and how do we go about addressing it? Often during rape trials we hear people talk about how the victim was "asking for it, just look how she was dressed" and we seem to accept this analysis as valid. It isn't, why do we as a society put the onus for rape on the victim instead of where it truly belongs, on the rapist? Why do we fail to teach our male children that how a woman dresses is not an invitation to do as they please, that they should not rape no matter what excuse they feel they have?
On today's show we are discussing society's views on rape. If you feel you have a question or comment that will add to the discussion please do call in on (646)716-6583 at 4:30 pm EST.
As always if you can't catch the show live it is archived for your listening convenience.

Random Talk is a product of a long standing friendship; now coming up on 15 years; Carol and I came up with this brilliant idea. Recently on our weekly walks; we decided, why not give people a look into our great discussions and weekly rants?
We have officially known each other since 1999. A friendship that has taught us patience, forgiveness, support and host of other lessons. Around 10 years ago in order to keep our friendship fresh and enjoy a little exercise we began those weekly walks. Since then we have boh become college graduates, working professionals, business owner, wives, and Carol a mother. We hope to continue our loving friendship for years to come.
and other random topics.
