Avoiding sunlight has more risk factors than SMOKING

    in Health

In a Swedish Study it was solidly understood that under-exposure of the sun, is much more dangerous to the health of a person than anyone in the scientific community had ever expected. In the beginning there were only three big lifestyle factors that endangered health, and those being, smokers, and being overweight and lack of workouts or activity. Now there is a fourth and that is adding the correct amount of good sunray (UV-B) to your daily lifestyle to improve health and to remain healthy.  Constantly blocking the sun from the skin, be it staying out of the sun, or the over-use of sunscreen has a devastating effect on the body's Vitamin D level. Tune in for the Rest Of The Story at 7PM tonight, Wed May 4---from the Aging Younger Show.

  • Rachel Tilseth - Wolves of Douglas County Wisconsin

    in Education

Wolfdog Radio is proud to present Rachel Tilseth on our next show, with the theme "Without Wolves there would be no Wolfdogs" on Tuesday 4/26/2016 at 7:00 PM EST

Our show focuses on someone virtually unknown to wolfdog people, but has been one of the "protectors" of wolves in Wisconsin. She has been a pre-emptive and pro-active voice for wolves by her deeds and actions.  Rachel founded Wolves of Douglas County Wisconsin in 2012 to bring attention to the brutality in the Wisconsin Wolf hunt. She could not fathom wolves going from endangered to hunted in such a brutal manner.

She is a grandmother, artist, educator and naturalist. Her journey has been inspirational. She is a true leader in the wolf community because she leads by example and teaches with results. In Rachel's own words "I fought for them and will always fight for them. I want my grandchildren to grow up in a world where wolves can live free from hate, and persecution. Where wolves are appreciated for what they contribute to the health of our ecosystems. Wolves are essential and wolf hunts are about power, not conservation. Let's serve earth, not special interests bent on stripping the life out of our last precious wild places where wolves live and raise their families."  Join Wolfdog Radio for this special show introducing Rachel to us all. Cry with us, laugh with us, rejoice with us, and then do something about it!

RNN Connecting the Dots w/Dan Happel IS Environmentalism Anti-Humanism?

    in Politics

Is Environmentalism Anti-Humanism?  A paradigm shift occurred with the creation of the President's Council on Sustainable Development in 1994, under Bill Clinton. Thereafter, government priorities went from "serving the people" to "serving the environment".  By including environmental NGOs and Tax Exempt Foundations in  Federal policy making, the foxes were left in charge of the henhouse;  endangered species, clean water, clean air, and other "well meaning" policies were radicalized.

The Republic News Network is a broadcast of the Republic for the United States of America.  The purpose of the RNN is to reach out to the American People with our message of hope, that the American Republic has been restored. Thursday evenings each week we engage experts in business, industry, military, law enforcement, faith, intelligence and other patriotic Americans in an effort to inform the American People of important current events and at the same time educate our guest and listeners about the restored American Republic.

RNN Schedule: Live on Thursday Evenings 9pm EDT/6pmPDT

EP57: Radiolab’s Simon Adler on Hunting Endangered Animals

    in Business

SUMMARY: Our interview is with Simon Adler, a producer and reporter for the fantastic NPR show and podcast Radiolab. Simon reported and produced a story about an American millionaire who recently hunted and killed a black rhino—one of the most endangered animals on the planet. At first blush, it’s a disconcerting, colonial, image of a rich Western white guy gunning down an endangered African animal. But as Simon reveals in his story, there’s a lot more at play here. While extremely controversial, this kind of big game hunting has actually become one of the most successful ways of saving these black rhinos. One country where it’s done, Namibia, actually has an increasing population of rhinos, elephants and lions, and Namibian government officials and conservationists directly attribute those numbers to big game hunting. Whereas in many countries like Kenya, where hunting has been banned, animal populations are rapidly declining thanks largely to poachers and people encroaching on the animals’ habitats.

To put this very modern problem into an economic context, co-host Joe Flood starts out by looking at English economist William Forster Lloyd’s once-forgotten treatise on the “Tragedy of the Commons,” how the American environmental movements of the 1960s and 70s helped his theory and make it one of the most influential ideas in biology, economics and public policy. Then guest Simon Adler takes it from there…

    All God's Creatures Prayer Service

It’s hard to believe that the earth is undergoing a mass extinction of our creatures.  The very existence of one in five species is threatened!

In the United States, the Endangered Species Act has
served as the “Noah’s ark” of our time, ensuring protection
for creatures in peril. The ark in the Genesis flood narrative
is how, God “remembers” (i.e., holds, keeps, protects,
cares for) “all the wild animals and all the domestic animals” (Gen. 8:1). Today, we are called to be mindful of all
creatures, and to take stock of their presence.
