The Relationship Handbook: A Life-changing Work

    in Lifestyle

Guest Gina Vucci is the co-author of The Relationship Handbook: A Path to Consciousness, Healing, and Growth.  Written with the beloved, bestselling author, Shakti Gawain, The Relationship Handbook offers a different approach. Gina explains how relationships of all kinds — from romantic partners to co-workers to family and friends — can be our greatest teachers if we know how to view them in the right way. Gina and Shakti's approach shifts the focus away from relationships themselves and looks instead at the lessons they can teach us about ourselves.

“When we view relationships as a path of consciousness, we recognize that the most important relationship we have is with ourselves,” write Shakti and Gina. “Ultimately, this is our primary relationship, the one that provides the foundation for the rest of our life."

Gina Vucci is the creator of soccermomspirituality.com.  She is also a swim team mom, a single mom, a survivor of Domestic Violence, a sober alcoholic for over twenty years, a mentor, a friend, an advocate, and a seeker.

HR Happy Hour 200 - Celebrating the Final Conversation on Employee Engagement?

    Broadcast LIVE Thursday January 22, 2015 - 8PM ET

    Hosts: Steve Boese, Trish McFarlane

    Guest: Paul Hebert

    Call in 646-378-1086

For the celebratory 200th Episode of the HR Happy Hour Show, Steve and Trish will broadcast LIVE just like in the old school HR Happy Hour Show days, this Thursday at 8:00PM ET.

Long time friend of the showm and frequent guest Paul Hebert will be along for the ride as we talk employee engagement, hopefully for the last time ever on the show. We have beaten this subject TO DEATH and still we are no closer to 'solving' engagement, or even deciding if it can be solved.

So this week on the show we will beat the topic around one last time, see if there really is a solution to engagement, and maybe and finally move on to more interesting subjects. Like robots. And the Internet of Things. And basketball.

Additionally, we will have some fun looking back at the history of the HR Happy Hour and have some laughs at Steve's expense.

This will be a really fun show, especially since we will be back LIVE this Thursday at 8:00PM ET.

Hope you can join us and jump in to the conversation on the Twitter backchannel - use hashtag #HRHappyHour to join the fun.

Five Ways You May Be Killing Employee Morale

    in Business

In my research on the topic of employee morale much of the focus I’ve seen is employee driven. By that I mean the attention leans toward what can be done to make the employee happy (perks driven), motivated, etc. I see little on what I consider to be the root of the problem which is leadership driven.

Strong morale is essential to your success as an organization. Leaders need employees who are engaged on all fronts. Employees need strong leaders to show the way.  The last thing you want to do is kill employee morale by ineffective leadership. In this episode I will talk about five ways in which managers/bosses/leaders kill employee morale and what to do about it.
