    Empathy

    in Paranormal

Empathy is one of the greatest parts of our heritage.  Empathy is frequently the first psychic sense many of us experience.  When we first realize we are empathizing we realize great power is flowing through us.  It's hard not to be scared by that first sensation.  But that power has always been there.  It always will be there.  The only thing that's changed is that you've awakened enough to sense it, and of course with knowledge comes responsibility.
We are taught to protect ourselves from negative energies, and from unwelcome vibes.  I could not possibly disagree with that philosophy more.

    All is one.

Every energy you draw is a mirror shining for you to know even more of yourself.  If you don't like the energy, that is a part of you that you are not liking.  If you fear that energy, that is you resisting your natural self-love.

You can protect yourself.  You can banish those things that hurt too badly to deal with.  Eventually, as you grow into the remembrance of who you truly are, they will return.  When they return it is because you are ready to embrace that part of yourself now.  You may find you need support.  You may find you need people who see you truly and who believe in you.  This is the calling of a healer.

So, when you know it is time to step into your empathy to any degree.  I am here.

When it is time to face your demons and dance with them.  I am here.

When it is time to know how truly deeply you really do love yourself.  I am here.

Welcome to Empathy.  The heart is always open.

    EMPATHY

    in Lifestyle

Although I only concentrate on two negative emotions (conceit and pride) in the second book, empathy is well worth mentioning. It also isn't what we typically make it out to be. Empathy isn't really an emotion, it's just that the emotional aspect of it is what we automatically see.
To be empathetic, or to honestly try and see from an alternate perspective, takes more of your conscious than your subconscious. We dwell on the subconscious aspect of empathy however. We realize our sadness, sympathy, and the way it makes us feel, while ignoring the most important ability that got us there.
I'll talk about why that conscious aspect of empathy is so important, and how if we take it for what it is, being empathetic to other perspectives can be great, but being empathetic to your own can be much better. Many times we don't stop and think about and emote for our own existence. Looking at your self without only seeing what's attached to it, can cause more of you (including your empathy) to come forward in to the world.

    The Truth About Empathy

    in Psychology

Welcome to The Grumpy Gator Cafe' where I serve up a cup-o’ inspirational espresso loaded with the sweetener of cathartic satire on the psychological and theological industries here in America. I have traveled to hell and back so often I have frequent flyer miles. I have learned a thing or two while coping with and healing from the bullshit of life and I share my stories via my live radio show that becomes a podcast the minute I sign off. Buckle up and laugh your ass off while healing.

On today's show I break down the bullshit surrounding Empathy. Psychology, theology and a lot of "look at me I am a helping someone else" do-gooders have empathy bass ackwards.

Empathy is NEVER about the other person. It is squarely focused on US.

We CHOOSE to EMPATHIZE or NOT. Thus, Empathy is a selfish approach designed to help us get what we want while enhancing our relationships.

I set the record straight on this episode of the show.

I have traveled to hell and back so often I have frequent flyer miles. I have learned a thing or two while learning how coping with and healing from the bullshit of life and I share my stories via my live radio show that becomes a podcast the minute I sign off. Empathy: There's an App for That! Mica Stumpf and Peijman Kouretchian

    in Culture

Empathy is a fundamental human need. If people truly had empathy for one another, violence would be impossible.

Recent scientific studies show that a lack of empathy is actually worse for your health than obesity, smoking, and drinking alcohol.

Guests, Peijman Kouretchian and Mica Stumpf met at a nonviolence training for trainers in January of 2013; since that first meeting they have been working to create more empathy in the world and live their passion for building a nonviolent future.

Mica is a UC Berkeley Graduate in Peace and Conflict Studies and both she and Peijman have been involved in Peace Work for many years. Both are certified Nonviolence Trainers and have taught everywhere from Haiti to the county jails in San Francisco. In 2013 Peijman played drums for 24 hours straight to raise empathy awareness about tortured prisoners on hunger strike protesting inhumane conditions. That same year, Mica spent six weeks living with a Peace Team in South Korea, fighting the construction of a US Navy Base. Peijman and Mica also started their own nonprofit (emergencypeaceteams.org) that teaches nonviolent conflict intervention skills and works to create a community-based nonviolent alternative to the police.

The Empathy App is aimed at the root of all the major issues in the world: having empathy and understanding of another's situation is what this app and movement is all about.

    Empathy!

    in Psychology

Empathy is often defined as the ability to “put oneself into another's shoes”. It's fascinating how diverse and varied other people define empathy. Wikipedia define it as the capability to share and understand another person's emotions and feelings. Miriam-Webster define empathy as the act of understanding, being aware of, beings sensitive to and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts and experience of another, either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner. The Latin word compassio veraque meaning compassion and true, best outline the word empathy. In layman's term it is the overwhelming power to feel another person's emotion as if they are your own.

Healing House with Dr. Ayleen - Empathy Management

    in Spirituality

em·pa·thy - noun \'em-p?-the\ : the feeling that you understand and share another person's experiences and emotions : the ability to share someone else's feelings.

One of the traits common to healers is some degree of empathy. As everything holds both light and shadow, the ability to feel the emotions of others as if they are your own can be both a gift and a hindrance. While empathy can enhance the connection between a practitioner and a person receiving healing work, it can also leave the healer open to a flood of emotions that can be at best disruptive and at worst disabling.

    EMPATHY CAN BE MANAGED!

On today's episode, we'll explore learning how you can transform empathy from a reflex to a choice. will share exercises that will enable you to not only decide if your empathy is needed, but also choose how much empathy you need for each situation!
