SNEAKING INTO "THE SANDLOT" WITH DAVID MICKEY EVANS

    in Film

    * GUESTS: Internationally renowned composer / musician Martin Tillman, and the podcast troupe "We Found Microphones" on Netflix's JESSICA JONES.

With RADIO FLYER and THE SANDLOT, writer / director David Mickey Evans combined childhood magic with real world trauma for the first time since the 60s era cinema of Francois Truffaut. In the process he broke the mold of cliched cuteness inherent in movies and series such as HOME ALONE and THE COSBY SHOW, and helped usher in an era of more "gritty" big screen family fare by others; titles such as MRS. DOUBTFIRE and even CASPER for the first time broaching topics such as divorce, absentee parents, the death of loved ones and more. Craig Jamison & Jim Delaney invite us into an alternately hilarious and heart-breakingly inspirational sit-down with Evans - discussing the creation of THE SANDLOT and RADIO FLYER, his 2007 buried treasure,THE FINAL SEASON,, his upcoming biopic on high school football coach Ed Thomas, and much more.

"SPY FI": MISSION, U.N.C.L.E., AND THE "SPECTRE" OF BOND - THEN AND NOW

    in Film

Two of 2016's biggest worldwide box office hits, SPECTRE and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROUGE NATION, have their origins in the "Spy Fi" craze of the 1060s. But how, in a decade crowded with popular TV and film competitors such as THE AVENGERS, I SPY, WILD WILD WEST, MATT HELM, OUR MAN FLINT and MODESTY BLAISE did James Bond, MISSION and U.N.C.L.E. emerge as the most popular and long lasting? Screenwriter / filmmakers Craig Jamison & Jim Delaney take a colorfully indepth and entertaining look at the origins of Spy Fi's "Big Three" along with their 2016 big screen reboots. Our retrospective (and look ahead!) includes film audio clips, archival interviews with Ian Fleming, Robert Vaughn and Martin Landau; popular music score excerpts from John Barry, Lalo Schifrin, Jerry Goldsmith and more. And, oh ...

Relax and enjoy, because while our journey into Spy Fi may blow your mind, ... this recording will NOT self-destruct in five seconds!
