personal empowerment with Elisa Medhus, M.D.

    in Spirituality

Jean Maurie and Maggie Lukowski will be talking with Elisa Medhus, MD, on Personal Empowerment For Your Soul on December 5, 2013 at 1pm EST – Noon Central Time.  Elisa is the author of the book:  My Son In The Afterlife.  Elisa’s book chronicles the conversations she has had with her son through her own experiences, dreams, family, and spiritual communicators and translators, (Jamie Butler and Kim O’Neill).  It is a book of joy, hope, and comfort for those who have lost loved ones or for so many who have questions about the afterlife. An excerpt from her book:  “As a mother, writing this book has taught me an important lesson:  death does not mean the end of a relationship.  Love knows no boundaries - not even death.  ...On October 6, 2009, my 20-year-old son Erik, took his own life. Since that sad and tragic day, an overwhelming sense of grief and despair propelled me into a search for answers. Answers that would provide me and others with comfort and hope. Some of those answers came from the many books I bought, but many came from an unexpected source…Erik, himself.”

Elisa Medhus, MD, is a physician and mother of five who has practiced internal medicine for more than thirty years. She is the author of three award-winning parenting books and has lectured on parenting for schools, parent groups, and corporations.  After the death of her twenty-year-old son Erik, Dr. Medhus began journaling her grief on her blog, Channeling Erik.  You can visit Elisa’s blog, Channeling Erik, conversations with my son in the afterlife at:  http://www.channelingerik.com

His group took the courageous step of creating a third-party independent, concierge practice where the patient pays for services directly to the doctor, and in cash.

PAUL G HARCH MD Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

    in Military

PAUL G HARCH MD Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy employs pressurized chambers in which the patient undergoes a series of “dives” in pure oxygen at varying depths of pressure, which is measured in atmospheres. Patients usually undergo 5, 1-hour dives each week for 8 weeks in the first round of treatment. After the first round, the physician will determine how many additional dives will be necessary for the patient to achieve the optimal clinical outcome.

Dr. Harch has long been considered a pioneer in hyperbaric medicine research and clinical applications. Author of The Oxygen Revolution, Dr. Harch has written numerous articles on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and has had several writings published in major medical journals. Dr. Harch was responsible for the scientific argument and application to Medicare that resulted in the approval of hyperbaric oxygen treatment of diabetic foot wounds.  Based on Dr. Richard Neubauer’s work and in conjunction with Dr. Van Meter he has developed many of the accepted protocols for HBOT in neurological disorders, including chronic traumatic brain injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in our military veterans.

Surviving 2 Bouts of Pancreatic Cancer pt 2 with Dr. Steven Lewis

    in Health

Dr. Steven Lewis received a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from Stanford University in 1977 and is a visiting professor of clinical biomedical science in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. His book is called "The Ripple Effect: How a Positive Attitude and Caring Community Helped Save My Life."

He was in superb life-long health, until he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, a disease with a survival rate of only 5%. In spite of this, Steven and his wife struggled to achieve and deliberately maintain an extremely positive attitude. This choice started a "ripple effect" that created an exceptionally caring and upbeat community of family, relatives and friends and enabled this community to return even more positive energy to Steven. The story became even more intense when Steven endured a second bout of pancreatic cancer that metastasized to his liver. Surviving a second bout of pancreatic cancer is so rare that no statistics are kept. Today, Steven is cancer free, in excellent health and works out strenuously.
