OPEN TOPIC or "open mike" night. Call in! Pick any issues, topics or subjects you'd like to discuss. Wearing a Blue Ribbon is the symbol of Child Abuse Awareness! Millions of abuse victims (men and women) hide the story of their experience well into adulthood. A huge number continue to suffer from pain, anger, fear, shame and embarrassment for decades. Most will agree their traumas have resulted in an inability to trust, make good decisions and have healthy relationships. But giving up the secret is often how recovery begins, one survivor talking to another. Join Bill Murray and his co-hosts, panelists and guests, many of them abuse survivors, others supporters and friends, for an informed discussion of the many important issues that surround child abuse. Anonymous calls and chat room participation are encouraged. ~~ Please see our web site at: www.NAASCA.org
Join us tonight as we discuss various laws that are surfacing in several states that address the targeting and exploitation of elderly individuals who have sizeable assets. This exploitation is NOT done by family members or friends. It is perpetrated by professionals who operate under the protection of the BAR Association and facilitated by probate court judges. In less than 5% of the cases of exloitation is the involvement of family members. 95% of the time on average, it is by professional strangers to the victim and family.
As billions are stolen annually by predatory guardians and immoral attorney's, our legislative representatives feign ignorance of the theft and exploitation. In a few cases, there appears to be some movement towards ending the exploitation.....at least by family members. The professional predators appear to be untouchable.
We will take call-ins after the first 1/2 hour. Calls must be limited to the discussion at hand.

Tonight's special guest is Sandi Atmore from California, a survivor and returning NAASCA family member who's a Life Coach & Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. Her childhood was tumultuous and she suffered physical, sexual and verbal abuse from the time she was 2 until the age of 15. The dynamic in Sandi’s home was that all bad things were to be kept behind closed doors and so to the outside world her family looked happy and normal. To deal with the stress and abuse Sandi developed the same coping skills she learned from her caregivers, denial and repression. As an adult her life revolved around moving up the corporate ladder and fitness. Childhood wounds that had left an internal feeling that something was terribly wrong with her fueled her drive. If she could just “make it” in business and have the perfect body then perhaps that terrible feeling would go away. It didn’t work. Neither did drugs or alcohol. In 2005, after facing the abuse of her childhood Sandi walked away from drugs. She discovered Grief Recovery in 2006. The Outreach Program gave her the structure and tools to heal from the inner wounds. Sandi notes, "I am a survivor and I received help in many ways. One was therapy, one was Grief Recovery (which I know teach). I am a Life Coach and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist so I help many people who have suffered through child abuse, specifically sexual." She continues, "I work with people vocationally, relationally, emotionally, mentally and spiritually to support them in inner healing which always leads to a better quality of life and the ability to break the cycles of abuse. I also volunteer at an organization called Safe Passage which helps women to recover from domestic violence, many of those women are sexual abuse victims as well."
