Erica Garner, a daughter of Chokehold Victim Eric Garner & Host Doshon Farad

    in Education

"If A Good cop actually used forced to stop the murder of my dad then he would be alive today." ~ Erica Garner

    WWW.BlackHistoryBlog.com | WWW.BlackhistoryUniversity.com

Erica Garner, the daughter of chokehold victim Eric Garner will discuss the latest indictments and arrest of police with guest host, Dashon Farad on The Gist of Freedom.

Texas Cop who threw girl to ground and pointing his pistol at other black youths resigns.

It appears two Good Cops saved the lives of the two teens Casebolt drew his gun on the teens while they tried to assist a teenager being assaulted by Casebolt.

The two officers in this brief video represent two different policing styles: the Guardian and the Warrior. As a former police officer and current policing scholar, I know that an officer’s mindset has tremendous impact on police/civilian encounters.

The Buffalo Officer Who was Fired After Saving a Victim from a Chokehold

    in Politics

Chris discusses Cariol Horne and reads a letter of support written by 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement who Care. Over the course of the past several weeks some news about a Buffalo Police Officer saving a man from a chokehold he was receiving from a fellow officer over 8-years-ago is being looked at once again.

Cariol Jean Horne’s actions on 11/1/06 on intervening in the choking of a black man, Neal Mack by Buffalo Police Officer Greg Kwiatkowski probably saved Mack from being Eric Garner before the Eric Garner incident. Kwiatkowski-like Daniel Pantaleo and Loehmann-had a track record of anger and attitude issues that should have got him ousted from the force long ago, instead it was Officer Horne who had since been fired for her possibly-life-saving efforts.

She openly admits she would do the same thing over again were the situation to re-present itself. Horne is black, Kwiatkowski is white. Even during a time when Horne underwent a disciplinary hearing, he continued to force similar situations upon members of the public and his fellow officers. While Kwiatkowski continued to break laws, the Buffalo Police Department still appeared obsessed with trying to teach Horne a lesson for breaking policy.

He was rewarded with a promotion to Lieutenant just before her firing. In response to a letter of Support by 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement who Care, Mayor Brown requested that horne meet with him on Thursday 6/4/15 in City Hall.

Colorism vs. Racism: A New Paradigm on Race with Jane Elliott

    in Self Help

Michael Brown. Eric Garner. Trayvon Martin. Tamir Rice. Freddie Gray. These are just a few names you’ve heard on the news lately and their deaths have us all asking questions about racism and injustice.

In a world we proudly call modern and progressive, why are we still dealing with racial discrimination? Haven’t we all moved on and accepted that the color of one’s skin shouldn’t be how we judge them?

The US has witnessed the elimination of slave labor and the signing of the Civil Rights Act by President Johnson which prohibits discrimination of all kinds based on race, color, religion or national origin. But despite achieving this, the USA of today is still dealing with issues of race.

Why White People Should Speak-Out Against Police Brutality

    in Radio

This show will look at why the fight against police brutality seems to be a battle predominately being fought by Black America. It will also address the question: "What Is White America's Role In This Movement."

Some feel people of color cannot and should not shoulder the burden for dismantling the racist white supremacist system that devalues and criminalizes black life without the all-in support, blood, sweat and tears of white people. If you are not already a white ally now is the time to become one.”

If you have a question or a comment, the call in number is (347) 850-8390, then PRESS 1.
