Celebrating the 1st International Day of Yoga - Minister N.K. Mishra

    in Self Help

Minister N K Mishra, Minister for Personnel & Community Affairs at the Embassy of India, joins Sister Jenna to discuss the International Day of Yoga.

In addressing the UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed an International Day of Yoga and said, "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day."

The subsequent resolution introduced by India, received unprecedented support from 175 countries and was unanimously adopted. June 21, 2015, will celebrate the 1st International Day of Yoga. Visit www.indianembassy.org & http://idayofyoga.org.

Join us in Washington, DC, for Yoga for Harmony and Peace, an event organized by Friends of Yoga, in partnership with the Embassy of India to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on June 21st from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Sylvan Theater - National Mall, Washington, DC.  Info & Register at http://friendsofyogausa.org

Vanguard of Renaissance - Factions of Freedom Ep. 116

    in Homeschooling

    Demons, Spirits & Dimensions

Lesser known spirits that can be invoked through magick, demons are usually regarded as malevolent or evil, the contrast to angels. Like angels, demons are numberless.

    They are unruly.

Most of the information and lore we have originates from Babylonians, Persians, Egyptian and even Talmudic tales.

They are ever present enemies posing a danger to Humanity.

They were created by God, on the first Sabbath Eve at Twilight. Dusk fell before God finished them, and this they have no bodies. They have wings and exist BETWEEN Humans and Angels- Roughly BETWEEN the Earth and the Moon- and are less powerful than angels.

These beings frequent uninhabited and unclean places, and once they attach themselves to a person, family, or object bad luck usually follows. Because they are between Heaven and Earth, they can prowl the world actively looking for souls to subvert and manipulate.

    A Conservative's Theatrical Dilemma

    in Culture

Today's show focuses on my recent experience as an audience member at an LGBT-themed musical.  Although the subject matter was a turn-off for me, the production had value as a theatre piece and forced me to think about my own experience as a member of an audience who loves theatre but, as a Conservative, cannot accept the theatricality/spectacle of what I witnessed.  Featured on today's show are the many responses to my Facebook inquiry about my experience.  I would love to hear from more people about this, so please give me a call!
