What is Prayer?
From 3 perspectives
* The Biblical world viiew
* The Academic/Scholastic
* The Urantia Book
Prayer and its associated worship is a technique of detachment from the daily routine of life, from the monotonous grind of material existence. It is an avenue of approach to spiritualized self-realization and individuality of intellectual and religious attainment.
Prayer is the breath of the spirit life in the midst of the material civilization of the races of mankind. Worship is salvation for the pleasure-seeking generations of mortals.
As prayer may be likened to recharging the spiritual batteries of the soul, so worship may be compared to the act of tuning in the soul to catch the universe broadcasts of the infinite spirit of the Universal Father.
.Prayer is the sincere and longing look of the child to its spirit Father; it is a psychologic process of exchanging the human will for the divine will. Prayer is a part of the divine plan for making over that which is into that which ought to be.
"Prayer is entirely a personal and spontaneous expression of the attitude of the soul toward the spirit

This week we continue our study from Paper 91 of The Urantia Book:The Evolution of Prayer.
It's amazing how much something as simple as a prayer has the power to change our perceptions. The Urantia Book says the prayer can be a sincere expression of spiritual attitude, a declaration of soul loyalty, a recital of personal devotion, an expression of thanksgiving, an avoidance of emotional tension, a prevention of conflict, an exaltation of intellection, an ennoblement of desire, a vindication of moral decision, an enrichment of thought, an invigoration of higher inclinations, a consecration of impulse, a clarification of viewpoint, a declaration of faith, a transcendental surrender of will, a sublime assertion of confidence, a revelation of courage, the proclamation of discovery, a confession of supreme devotion, the validation of consecration, a technique for the adjustment of difficulties, and the mighty mobilization of the combined soul powers to withstand all human tendencies toward selfishness, evil, and sin.
The book further states that even though prayer does not change the changeless and infinite Creator, "it very often effects great and lasting changes in the one who prays in faith and confident expectation. Prayer has been the ancestor of much peace of mind, cheerfulness, calmness, courage, self-mastery, and fair-mindedness in the men and women of the evolving races."
This week we'll cover at least section 3. Prayer and the Alter Ego, Section 4. Ethical Praying and Section 5. Social Repercussions of Prayer.
Jesus often referred to prayer as, "just a little talk with my Father in heaven." The Urantia Book teaches that, "The doing of the will of God is nothing more or less than an exhibition of creature willingness to share the inner life with God—with the very God who has made such a creature life of inner meaning-value possible."

The power of words are so important and our posture when we pray. It amazing how how we feel and what we think and what we say inside and out affect the way we talk and pray.
This in turn affects the prayer life we have altogether and that is where we want to be on our guard against negative forces that work against us having a thoughtful and effective prayer life in the HOLY Spirit.
So then when we think right and pray fervently or with energy and right posture really makes a huge difference.
Prayer is so powerful and it so epic when we draw close to the LORD and stand, truly stand on and in HIM His word and we wrestle with the enemy and stomp on his lies we gain dominion and win the warfare.
The beating of the devil is the place we need to be daily to see JOY and kjeep it.
Today’s Topic: The importance of an effective Prayer Ministry
Sub Topic: Much prayer, much power. Little prayer, less power!
Discussion: Prayer is the key that unlocks our hearts and minds to the will of God. The more we pray and talk with God, the more sensitive we become to hearing what He has to say, learning His voice and following His instructions. It is the link that binds us to the Holy Spirit that communes with our Creator, and when we pray we should speak the Word of God and believe what it says, this is how we get our prayers answered. Today, Apostle Williams and others will share how to have an effective prayer life and the importance of prayer in our churches and ministries.Scripture Text: (Matthew 21:22) And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

The Lord is looking for us to continue to praise Him even when we are being broken. Many circumstances, hardships and situations come. God allows the breaking so that we can become the person He desires and so that when He blesses us, we will be able to handle it. When you get on the other side of the breaking, then you can love like God loves, have compassion like God and hardness of heart is removed from you. This is the year we must position ourselves to receive all that God has for us.
