WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

TODAY our show will be about the details of the Feb. 13, 1965 speech:

THE AMERICAN SLAVE CODE in THEORY AND PRACTICE: its distinctive features shown by its statues, judicial decisions, and illustrative facts.WILLIAM GOODELL

2.)   Free peopled of color may be and continually are brought into Slavery, in this country, in a variety of ways. Some of these ways have been already specified, incidentally, while treating of other topics. Some will be specified hereafter. And they will be clustered together and averted again, in a chapter on "The Liberties of the Free People of Color."  In the mean time, the topic demands attention here, in our inquiry concerning the subjects of slavery, and we shall cite some particulars which need not be repeated again. The general fact of the enslavement of the free colors people, of the facility with which it is done, and the indifference, not to say the connivance, of the Southern Courts, will appear from the following: Davis vs. Sanford, Spring Term 1815; 6 Littell's Ky. Rep., 206.

FREE SOCIAL WORSHIP AND RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION PROHIBITED:  The Government not only permits the Master to forbid the free Social Worship and religious Instruction of his Slave, at his pleasure, but it also steps in with direct prohibitions of its own, which even the Master himself may relax or abrogate.

"But despite the fact that I saw that Islam was a religion of brotherhood, I also had to face reality. And when I got back into this American society, I'm not in a society that practices brotherhood. I'm in a society that might preach it on Sunday, but they don't practice it on no day--on any day. And so, since I could see that America itself is a society where there is no brotherhood and that this society is controlled primarily by racists and segregationists--and it is--who are in Washington, D.C., in positions of power." WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

EDUCATION PROHIBITED TO AFRCAN AMERICAN SLAVES BY LAW because if we were deemed as sentient beings with all the HUMAN aspects of life eternal we would know how we came to be, when we came to be, what we were then and what we are now.  Eternal in our blackness that we were created in our skins, so no amount of getting on your knees and begging any God for your freedom because it will never come.  We the people of this world will make ourselves free. My thoughts are that at all cost God who is the one who created us all knows what we need, but if we do not initiate a desire to change our conditions they will not change, the creator tells me that our conditions will not change until we ourselves change. Open up our minds to what our leaders taught us and use that knowledge. It is to open the mind to the light of liberty to which we so richly deserve, to lavish ourselves in.  There is no more pleading, there is only Revolution complet and total change of what the Captors want from us, knowledge is the key. Repartions for all the misdeeds done to us is the only solid foundation of Revolution on which we must stand a complete and total change tothe systems of White, Immperalist state under which we are all being forced to live under.  Yet to even Educate our children about Revolution is wrong, this absurd.  This day is the day we set aside to morn our loss of our Ancestors of the Civil War "The Colored Soilders". Denied everthig

"In the house of Delegates of Virginia, in 1832, Mr. Berry said: "We have, as far as possible, closed every avenue by which light might enter their ( the slaves) minds.  If we could extinguish the capacity to see the light, our work would be completed; they would then be on a level with the beast of the field, and we should be safe! I am certain that we would not do it, if we could find out the process, and that on the plea of necessity."

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

"They began to do this quite well, and when I got to Paris and London--there are many Afro-Americans in Paris, and many in London. And in December--no, November--we organized a group in Paris and just within a very short time they had grown into a well-organized unit. And they, in conjunction with the African community, invited me to Paris, Tuesday, to address a large gathering of Parisians and Afro-Americans and people from the Caribbean and also from Africa who were interested in our struggle in this country and the rate of progress that we have been making. But since the French government and the British government and this government here, the United States, know that I have been almost fanatically stressing the importance of the Afro-American uniting with the African and working as a coalition, especially in areas which are of mutual benefit to all of us. And the governments in these different places were frightened because they know that the Black revolution that's taking place on the outside of their house--And I might point out right here that colonialism or imperialism, as the slave system of the West is called, is not something that's just confined to England or France or the United States. But the interests in this country are in cahoots with the interests in France and the interests in Britain. It's one huge complex or combine, and it creates what's known as not the American power structure or the French power structure, but it's an international power structure. And this international power structure is used to suppress the masses of dark-skinned people all over the world and exploit them of their natural resources. So that the era in which you and I have been living during the past ten years most specifically has witnessed the upsurge on the part of the Black man in Africa against the power structure. He wants his freedom." A Global Business Network: Can African Americans Unite With Africans In America?

    in Women

We have a common ancestry, but no longer speak the same languae and many times we don't follow the same culture, but African Americans (those born in America descending from generations of family lineage) and Africans in America (recent imigrants to America) have a grand opportunity to create a global business network, by importing products from Africa and selling them on the American market. Others around the globe are imitating African clothing and artifacts (China, Korea, etc.) and selling them cheaply to African Americans. African American hair care companies that once cornered the market have been bought out by the larger white owned companies such as Revlon, who promptly dominated the world market of crinkly haired people. Can we capitalize on a common heritage, recapture our connection, and create a global economy that enhances the prosperity for both African Americans and Africans in America? Mr. Symon Ogeto of the African Global Chamber of Commerce shares his views on Africa's influence on the global marketplace.

WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

If there is such a passage in the Bible or any other book that tells man not to defend him/her self,it is leading you astray. Self preservation is the first law of life and without resistance to those things that oppress us and keep us in perpetual enslavement. We will perish, Self Defense is the only survival tool that will not fail you in any situation you find yourself in. Malcolm El. Haji Shabazz gives us this knowledge through so many of his speeches but this one is the best.

"Now I hope you'll forgive me for just speaking so informally tonight, but I frankly think it's always better to be informal. As far as I am concerned, I can speak to people better in an informal way than I can with all of this stiff formality that ends up meaning nothing. Plus, when people are informal, they're relaxed. When they're relaxed, their mind is more open, and they can weigh things more objectively."Whenever you and I are discussing our problems we need to be very objective, very cool, calm, collected. But that doesn't mean we should always be. There's a time to be cool and a time to be hot. See, you got messed up into thinking that there's only one time for everything. There's a time to love and a time to hate. Even Solomon said that, and he was in that Book too. You're just taking something out of the Book that fits your cowardly nature. And when you don't want to fight, you say, "Well, Jesus said don't fight." Malcolm El Haji ShabazzBut I don't even believe Jesus said that." So let's examine what the brother had to say about the surrender of our selves to a belief. If we believe as strongly over reparation of our people to their true wealt, the land we should recive and damages for 400 years of salvery along with 50 or more years of JIm Crow.

Hollywood And Its Propaganda Aimed At Black People

    in Politics

On this episode of Field Afrikan Radio we will discuss the many subliminal and overt messages that Hollywood is projecting to Black people and about Black people. What messages are we missing in their movies and tv shows? Is it realistic to think you can just ignore and don't watch tv and it won't affect your Black life? Why must we always be mindful of what Europeans are saying on their tv shows and in their movies? Join us in this discussion

Grace Klein Community: Kwathu Children’s Home & Beats and Books

    in Current Events

An Intervention- Kwathu Children’s Home: Gertrude, born to a young single girl, barely old enough to take care of herself, became a ‘mom’ to her 2 year old, half-brother, at a tiny age of 6 years. Gertrude and Linto were the ‘results’ of a young woman trying to survive through the only way she knew how, prostitution. Naturally, the two children were unplanned, and the young woman was certainly in no position to care for them. Having to fight for survival, Gertrude would wrap her little brother on her back and walk into the township and steal food.  Someone noticed that these two children were in desperate need for care, and took action.  6 years have passed, and Gertrude and Linto have blossomed into two incredible children. They found their home, their foundation and their future.

Beats and Books: A similar story yet in another part of Africa is that of a young girl with little knowledge of her Mom's whereabouts. The death of her father had so little consequence as he was only a man whose last name she bears. Her name is Yonela which means "enough." She has no one to look to except the strangers in her life who have consistently shown her love and care and have become her family. Two years ago, through our intervention, Yonela was moved into a private school where she has learned quickly how to read and write. Every week, she spends atleast 9 hours learning musical skills and improving her literacy with people who believe in changing her circumstances in our after-school program. Yonela has begun to dream.
