Statement of Dan Arellano, "On Saturday June 13, 2015 at the Mexican-American Cultural Center in Austin we met with scholars to discuss the mini series “Texas Rising,” It is my own opinion that the series reeked of Anglo Superiority, and American exceptionalism and that’s after forcing myself to view the episodes, but truthfully I refuse to see the remainder, I have had enough. When you have people like Ann Coulter demonizing an entire nation you have to wonder what her and the History Channels motives are or is all this nothing but Tea Party politics; didn’t our governor just allocate 800 million for border security? Also the History Channel is no more about history than Fox News is about the news."
Dan Arellano has been an activist for almost 40 years. He was a member of the Austin Optimist Club. He is a member of the Tejanos in Action and a past commander of this Veterans Organization. He is also a professional actor appearing in Machete Kills along side Cuba Gooding Jr in a speaking role. He is also the Co-Host of the Eddie Arevalo Spotlite Show. He is currently lecturing at the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum in Austin.
He has been doing the reenactment of the Battle of Medina in Losoya Texas.

CHIEF RUFUS DAVIS discussed the recent walk out from the set of the Adam Sandler movie by Native American actors. The actors refused to participate realizing their ancestors were being portrayed as ignorant savages. We discussed how proud we all were at the heroic gesture from these actors. He also reminded us that Mexicans are also indigenous and he encouraged us to be proud of our roots. We also discussed our own Tejano re-enactors and how they continue to participate not realizing they are helping to perpetuate a myth, especially the myth of the Alamo.
Tonight's show features 7-1 Joby Sanchez and 12-0 Henry Corrales, two promising professional MMA fighters. Sanchez will soon be making his third appearance in the UFC Octagon since taking a fight with Wilson Resi on short notice at UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Dos Anjos in August of 2014. His debut in the organization ended with a unanimous decision loss, but he bounced back with a split-decision win over Tateki Matsuda at UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver in Boston this past January. Corrales makes his debut in Bellator this Friday night against Daniel Straus (22-6) as part of a card headlined by Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock. Corrales is looking for his fifth straight stoppage, and only two of his wins have been by decision. He takes on a fighter with more than twice the amount of professional experience and embraces a huge opportunity in stepping up from KOTC. Tom, Tony and Rich will also do our best to fill the remaining time with combat sports news, event results and schedules.
(CNN)Rachel Dolezal -- fresh off of stepping down as head of the Spokane NAACP chapter over criticism that she's portrayed herself as black, even though she was born white -- stood by that self-assessment Tuesday, insisting, "I identify as black."
Dolezal did not deny her biological parents are white or that she has changed how she looks at herself over the years in an interview on NBC's "Today" show. And she admitted not having corrected various published reports over the years labeling her as transracial, biracial and black.
At the same time, Dolezal -- while admitting she might have conducted some interviews differently -- insisted she'd do the same thing again overall when it comes to how she has portrayed herself racially.
CNN's Ed Payne, Dana Ford, Alyssa Jackson, Ray Sanchez, Ashley Fantz, Stephanie Elam, Paul Vercammen, Gary Tuchman, Tony Marco and Ralph Ellis contributed to this report.

FELIX ZUNIGA is the Director of Project Management and Assessment for the Division of Information Technology Services at CSU San Bernardino.
Felix Zuniga shares his view on the topic of "Are We Headed Toward a Jobless Future?"
Oxford University research states, that by 2030, almost half of all the jobs, in the U.S., could be automated. Is technology moving so rapidly that many are unaware that their "safe and permanent jobs" are about to disappear? Are we properly educating our future workforce to be prepared for a brave new world where they must compete with computers?
Is the idea of jobs disappearing all around us to automation a reality or myth?
