Can the Packers overcome their bad showings in Florida? Will they wilt in the heat, or use it to fuel a 3 game win streak? Is the defense on the right track or were the Vikings an aberation? Has Eddie Lacy turned the corner on his season similar to last year? Why does McCarthy refuse to give a carry to DuJuan Harris?
In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will preview the Green Bay Packers (10-4) vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-12). On paper, the Packers should roll in this game, right? Well, this is the NFL, which means that you have to go out an execute every Sunday. The Buccaneers are tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders, and the Tennessee Titans for the worst record, in the NFL. Should the Buccaneers pull off the upset, they will not be in the running for the overall number one pick, in the 2015 Draft. Don't think that the players are going to lay down and take a beating. The Buccaneers will take the field and try to slow down the Packers offense. Offensively, the Buccaneers have an up and coming rookie receiver, Mike Evans. They might be able to find some success against the Packers defense.
The Green Bay Packers need to win, to set up the showdown at Lambeau Field, with the Detroit Lions. However, before looking to week 17, and a Division title showdown, they need to take care of business. The Packers can not expect to fly to Tampa Bay and leave with a win, without executing and fixing some issues. What are the keys to the Packers offense this week? Do you think that they need to get back to a balanced attack? They will have a chance against a Buccaneers defense that ranks 25th, in both, points and yards allowed. There should be opportunities but the Packers need to execute. Listen in or call the show.
In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble; presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will talk about the Green Bay Packers loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Packers entered this game with a five game winning streak, but have never won, in Buffalo. The Bills came into the game clinging to hope, of making the AFC playoffs. This was previewed as to which unit would win, the Packers offense or Bills defenese.
The Bills defense won the battle, from the beginning of the game. The physical style of play held Aaron Rodgers without a touchdown pass, and forced two interceptions. Rodgers did not recieve any help, as his receivers dropped passes, like they were hot potatoes. The first interception was a ball that was slightly underthrown to Randall Cobb. However, streaking down the right sideline was a wide open Jordy Nelson, that would have been a touchdown. Later in the game, Nelson made a double move and was open again. This time, Rodgers fired a strike but the ball hit Nelson's fingertips and fell harmlessly, to the ground. In the fourth quarter, the Packers were driving, Rodgers fired to Jarrett Boykin and the ball deflected, into the air. Bacarri Rambo, filling in for the injured Duke Williams, intercepted his second pass of the day. The Packers defense did hold Kyle Orton, in check. The Bills offense did not score a touchdown, and this game resembled the losses to Seattle and Detroit. Marcus Thigpen accounted for the only Bills touchdown, scoring on a 75 yard punt return.
The Packers had one last chance, to win the game. With 1:58 left in the game, the Packers took over, on their own 10 yard line. However, on the first play, of the drive, Mario Williams beat J.C. Tretter and forced a fumble. This ended the game, as a safety was awarded to Buffalo, because of the two minute fumble rule.
Sports talk and discussion with an attitude for the passionate and hard core fan. Find out what the word is on the Packers revamped receiving corps as well as what the expectations are for free agent signee Julius Peppers joining the pass rush. In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will talk about the Green Bay Packers victory of the Atlanta Falcons. The Packers improved, to 10-3, and hold a one game lead over the Detroit Lions, in the NFC North. The Falcons dropped, to 5-8, but win the tie-breaker, over New Orleans. The 43-37 victory, was a tale of two halfs. The Packers scored on every first half possesion to build a 31-7 halftime lead. The Falcons turned the tide, in the second half and scored 30 points. The comeback was not enough, as the Packers offense continued to shine.
Julio Jones had a career best 259 yards, and was a one man wrecking crew. Matt Ryan found Jones time after time, for big chunks of yards. The Green Bay Packers could not muster a pass rush, and the defensive backs had no answer, for Jones. Jones left with a hip injury, late in the fourth quarter. After cutting the lead to six, the Packers recovered an on-side kick and ran the clock out. Listen in or call the show, with your thoughts.
