The New Senior Woman: Reinventing the Years Beyond Mid-Life

As people live longer and better lives, both women and men may look forward to many years in retirement. But living well in retirement depends on a variety of decisions people make as they prepare for and enter this new chapter of life and living. This book is for and about women approaching and experiencing life in their senior years. This largest and fastest-growing part of the population is living in a manner very different from our mothers, whose roles in life were much more predictable and circumscribed than ours. Today’s senior women live longer, are healthier, better educated.

. Culled from women in their sixties and beyond, and from a variety of backgrounds and current living situations, the stories reveal the realities of life for retirement-age women, and demonstrate the dreams, joys, concerns, and fears that come along with this phase of life. They address questions about living arrangements, adult children, loss of a spouse or partner,

    Lugnuts and Horsepower

    in Sports

It has been a long couple weeks for NASCAR, as both the good and bad have occurred in the sport, and it all revolved around one man.

Patti Rodisch and Dustin Parks will look back at the Bristol weekend, a race that honored Steve Byrnes and his battle against cancer, but then will turn to the Richmond weekend, the first weekend following the tragic passing of Byrnes on April 21.  These two will look back at his greatest moments in the sport as a broadcaster, and how much he loved the sport.  Byrnes is a fixture in the garage, and not having him around doing interviews or pit cycles will feel very different.  But, as his final tweet pointed out before his passing, he "Went The Distance."

Patti and Dustin will also review all the action at both races, and then look ahead to what looms...the monster that is Talladega.  Tune in at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT for this very special episode.

Talking In Circles: Steve Byrnes Death, Kyle Busch Exemption, David Ragan's ride

    in Sports

On this episode of Talking In Circles we discuss the life and career of the late Steve Byrnes. Byrnes, the former NASCAR Broadcaster lost his life due to a battle with cancer on Tuesday.

Also NASCAR has said they are open to an exemption for injured driver Kyle Busch. Busch has been hurt since his opening week accident at Daytona International Speedway. Is this the right decision?

David Ragan appears to be headed to the No. 55 at Kansas Speedway in two weeks. Can Ragan make Chase in this ride?

Also NASCAR Whelen Modified Tommy Barrett, Jr was arrested and charged with a DUI. That led his Our Motorsports team to suspend him from the race at Stafford Speedway this weekend. Was this the right move by the team? Or another Kurt Busch situation.

Mike Wallace had triple bypass surgery last week meaning he will not race in next weekend's NASCAR Xfinity Series race. He will be replaced by his brother Kenny Wallace in the No.26 JGL Racing Toyota.

Johanna Long will run the No. 03 this weekend at Richmond. How will she do?

RCR Appeal. What's taking so long?

Richmond International Raceway, Toyota Owners 400. Our picks and what we expect to see.

Bristol review. The good, the bad, the ugly

The Laws of Material Wealth with Guest Edd Edwards

    in Spirituality

    Edd Edwards

When Edd was a toddler, his grandmother noticed that when she clapped his hands together for a game of patty-cake, the energy created between his palms was enough to throw both of their arms well apart. That’s when she knew he had her healing gift, too. She was always focusing that energy on him.  As a kid Edd played with this energy every day, trying to understand just what it could do, what it must be for. By his teens he had figured out that it wasn’t ‘normal’ and that some kids were freaked out by it so he began keeping it more to himself.

Edd played with this energy in his hands and body constantly as he was growing up. His favorite subjects in school were science and physics, and through them he searched for the scientific explanation of the energy he was experiencing. But there were no explanations to be found until 1994 when he met the distinguished physicist, Dr. William Levengood of Grass Lake, Michigan. Dr. Levengood was able to measure and quantify Edd’s energy output in his laboratory.  For several years Edd worked on laboratory experiments with Dr. Levengood, as well as with Dr. John Gedye and Charles Pyler. He learned how to increase his energy output, to turn the energy output off completely, to control the switch of the polarity of the energy from positive to negative, and to affect the lab equipment from a great distance (even thousands of miles). Edd and the scientists designed and carried out countless experiments, with Edd’s measurable output of energy continually increasing. At the same time, his control of his energy was becoming more and more precise.
