Ed Ross Radio #102 The Godfather

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of the hub of Western Civilization
Watching Russian President Vladimir Putin outsmart President Obama, I felt like I was watching a remake of The Godfather. No matter how you feel about Barack Obama, no American should enjoy watching the top Russian crime boss make the world’s top cop look foolish. Putin isn’t particularly known for his diplomatic skills. He’s more a horse-head-in-your-bed kind of guy. All the shirtless propaganda photographs we see of him in the American media, however, give us the impression he’s somewhat of a joke. But anyone who can successfully run a crime syndicate large enough to rule Russia is nobody’s fool. He’s more Russia’s godfather than its president. Let’s discuss.

    Ed Ross Radio #94 Obamacare

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the hub of Western Civilization The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) began as poorly crafted legislation that became a train wreck then turned into a national disaster (perhaps the worst in American history in terms of the lives it effects) that will take many years to recover from. Here's what we should have done and still can do.

Ed Ross Radio #107 Obama is Down but Not Out

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of hub of Western Civilization
President Obama’s Teflon presidency has been attributable to the mainstream media’s propensity to devote little time to his misstatements and mistakes, the President’s remarkable oratory skills, and his willingness to deceive Americans if it serves the “greater good.” He’s been a superhero-like figure, loved and hated, seemingly immune from slings and arrows of his enemies. All that’s changing, but if Republicans want to exploit the Obamacare debacle, they have to do more than throw rocks.

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of the hub of Western Civilization
The president who has treated Congress as if it were an advisory board rather than a co-equal branch of government suddenly congressional authorization for military action in Syria. Is he a corageious hero as Sec. State Kerry portrays him or did the President panic when he found himself alone out on a limb?

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of the hub of Western Civilization.
Will the Tea Party breakaway from the Prepublican Party before or after the 2016 presidential election? If neither what does it have to do to to win over the Republican Party establishment? What are the consequences for America?

Ed Ross Radio #104 The Fight for the Soul of America

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of hub of Western Civilization.
The fight over funding Obamacare, the ostensible root cause for the government shutdown, isn’t just a fight over how best to provide healthcare to the American people, it’s about power, control, and winning elections. That fight will go on long after furloughed government employees go back to work. If Democrats win back the House and hold on to the Senate in 2014 they will have a clear shot at finishing the transformation agenda they began in President Obama’s first two years.

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of the hub of Western Civilization
Intense media coverage of the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting has drawn attention away from four big issues that continue to plague the Obama administration—Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS targeting of conservative organizations and individuals, and NSA spying on the American people. Nevertheless, the collective time bomb is ticking. The question is will it go off during the 2014 election campaigns if it goes off at all.

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of the hub of Western Civilization.
Since the Egyptian Armed Forces overthrew President Mohamed Morsi on July 3, 2013, members of Congress and foreign policy experts in and out of government have debated whether or not the U.S. should suspend $1.3 billion annual military assistance to Egypt. The Obama administration’s Egypt and Middle East policies are in tatters, but the one thing it has done right is to continue military assistance to the EAF.

Ed Ross Radio #103 Reducing Mass Shootings

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative commentary from the outskirts of the hub of Western Civilization
The Washington Navy Yard shootings reignited the never-ending debate between gun controllers and gun owners over gun control. You’ve heard the arguments numerous times so I won’t repeat them here; and it’s unnecessary because gun control is going nowhere at the federal level. We have almost as many guns as we have people in the United States; and gun owners have more political clout than gun controllers. The question remains, however, how do we prevent mass shootings? Here’s a three-pronged solution to the problem.

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative talk radio from the hub of Western Civilization.
Conservative talk radio from the hub of Western Civilization. The testimony this week of three senior State Department officials before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee could provide information that will blow the Benghazi scandal wide open, or will it be a dud? As reported by Fox News, appearing before the committee will be three career State Department officials: Gregory N. Hicks, the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya at the time of the Benghazi terrorist attacks; Mark I. Thompson, a former Marine and now the deputy coordinator for Operations in the State Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau; and Eric Nordstrom, a diplomatic security officer who was the regional security officer in Libya, the top security officer in the country in the months leading up to the attacks.
