Join "In the Stream" producer and host Jessica Dylan Winter as she welcomes the crew of Archaeology to the show.
Archaeology is a collective of artists spreading the art of dj'ing through turntablism. Deejays Depth (Alex Gerhardt), D/Cypher (Landon Yerby), Bownce (Kevin Kocak), Reazin (Rene Aguiar) and Rok is Dead (Bradley Brown) make up the crew of Archaeology. They play many varieties of music, but their collective heart is in DNB (drum and bass) and jungle. The deejays have been in the scene for at least 15 years. Together, they hand pick from their libraries, tracks of old and new, to form one unified body of sound.
Listen to the crew talk about their journey to come together to bring underground electronic music to the people of South Florida and how they're bringing vinyl back to the forefront of their genre mixing.

Welcome to conversation and poetry with Martha Deed, who has been writing ever since she could hold a crayon or pencil. Academically, she started off in history, completed her B.A. in Psychology at the New School for Social Research in Greenwich Village (New York City) when the village was teaming with poets ? Ashbery, Creeley, Ginsberg, Dylan Thomas and others ? who were meeting in places where she did not dare to go and consuming liquids and other substances she wished to avoid. Next stop: Boston University where she earned her PhD and launched her career as a psychologist. She studied one building away from the famous Robert Lowell seminar that included Anne Sexton, Maxine Kumin and others. But she was unaware of them. For the next 30 years, she combined writing with her career as a psychologist, retiring early in 2000 to write full time. Since then, she has published four books (one as editor), several chapbooks and dozens of poems. Two Pushcart nominations and winner of the Ice Boom contest. She has read at many Buffalo area venues as well as in Rochester and Albany, NY and Wilkes-Barre, PA.
You may not know this, but Matt-Man and Jayman are known as the Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash of BTR. HA! I'm kidding, actually they're the Don Draper and Roger Sterling of BTR. Okay, maybe not. They're the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin of BTR. What? Yeah, I guess not. The truth is they're considered the Dylan Thomas and Hunter S Thompson of BTR. Or something.
Point is Matt and Jay are fairly familiar with the drinking culture and know a few things about hangovers and how to deal with them. They've got stories galore about epic partying and epic hangovers. There are several different kinds of hangovers a person can suffer from depending on what they drank and how much. Matt and Jay have experienced them all and are here to help.
Why are we doing this? Because Matt and Jay expect to be nursing some serious hangovers (Matt more than Jay) during the show because this is Matt-Man's birthday weekend. Not just ANY birthday though. It's his 50th birthday!! OH MY GOD HE'S AN OLD MAN! Anyway, there will be serious celebrating happening on Saturday.
PLUS, it's also our Canadian Bureau Chief Jamie Mapleleaf's brithday weekend too! She'll be here to provide some much needed decency to the show. You'll also hear from the Rev Moneymaker, Guy Ahnurdyck, Drew Peacock, Stubby Stonehenge and more of the IWS Players.
PLUS YOU'RE CALLS! Call us up and wish Matt and Jamie a happy birthday. Or, call in and tell Matt just what you think of him. He's excited to hear from you.
