Bob Dylan the Prophet Spoke then the Millenials turned to the Illuminati

    in Music

This weekend I participated in Dylan Fest Duluth which has been going on about 20 years.  I live in Duluth now where he was born.  A few events which used to take place at Zimmy's in Hibbing; have been transferred to Duluth because Zimmys the restaurant which was named after him is now closed.  I sang in a Bob Dylan songwriter competition on Friday night.  The talent is incredible and people came from all over.  After about 25 minutes of discussing Bob Dylan, we redirect the conversation to the last 15 years in American history with the advent of the Oprah Show, the new style of music, music managers in the industry including Britney Spear's career including her journey in and out of drugs.  Bob Dylan said this when he responded to multiple fans saying he was a prophet.  paraphrased "People kept telling me that I am a prophet."  then he goes on to say when he brought the message of Jesus to his fans, they rejected him.  I can tell you from a Christian point of view, he found the truth of God after fame.  He was not tricked into it. He found it on his own.  He his a natural son of Abraham coming from the Jewish faith.  So don't reject his messages of his Christian era.  It won't affect him if you don't. It will affect your own vision.  We continue the discussion of how L.A. changed after the Aids crisis and more.  Listen to this cultural masterpiece known as Poltical Gravity.

    It's a Different World

    in Christianity

Back in 1964 Bob Dylan sang the song, "The Times They Are a-Changin' ". Just how much times have changed since then is absolutely mind-boggling. Technology, education, parenting, attitudes, you name it, it has changed and changed drastically. Today's world certainly is a" DIFFERENT WORLD than where we came from."

Life brings on changes to be sure. We want to know what you think about how and why the times have evolved.

    Honouring War resistors

    in Politics

Memorial Day and Veteran's Day often get equated, but there is an essential distinction between the two. Veteran's Day honors all who have served the American military in wars. Memorial Day honors those who've perished. It's an annual reminder that wars have grave human costs, which must be both recognized and minimized.

Those costs are not inevitable. We ought to also set aside time to remember those throughout American history who have tried hardest to reduce them, to prevent unnecessary loss of life both American and foreign: war resisters.  Dylan Matthew VOX

Today, I will again lift a pint of ale in memory of my three friends and their comrades who died in Vietnam.

I honor them without honoring the aggressive and unjust war in which they fought.I don't know what their motivation was to join the military, maybe it was simply that the draft gave them no choice, but it really doesn't matter. What I do know for sure is that their lives were unnecessarily cut short. Sam Webb

    in Writing

Richard had the world in the palm of his hand with the love of his wife, child, and friends. There was nothing Richard wanted more except more time with his wife, Vivian. Four years after they got married and two years after the birth of their daughter, Eva, Vivian was killed in a car accident leaving Richard behind to cope with the loss of his better half. Richard and Vivian’s childhood friends, Tara and Dylan, and his mother, Lena, aided Richard in the process of getting on with his life. Vivian’s death caused a shakeup among the family, but nothing was compared to Lena’s wrath when Richard betrayed Vivian by marrying Tara, just two years later.

Years later Richard still struggled with Vivian’s passing as he tried to keep Tara and Lena from killing each other. Lena loved Vivian like a daughter and was not happy about anyone taking her place, especially Tara. While Lena spent her time plotting to get Tara away from her son and grand-daughter, Tara fought for her husband’s attention from Vivian’s overshadowing memory. And, just when Tara thought it was safe to let her guard down her worst nightmare came back for vengeance-- Vivian.

Despite the shock of Vivian’s return, Lena thanked the powers that be; while Richard felt stuck between the undead wife and the current wife. Vivian has come back to claim her rightful place between her husband and daughter, yet she hadn’t planned on Richard giving his hear to her best friend. At the request of a marriage counselor, Richard is required to spend a full evening alone with Vivian to get down to the truth in order to decide if he is ready to forgive her and resume their life together, or let her go and move on with Tara. When all of the secrets are brought to the light, will Vivian need a fall guy or will she be thrown under the bus with the ULTIMATE Betrayal Between the Sheets.

5/21/15: Astros/Tigers, Wings hire Blashill, Sign Larkin To Entry-Level Deal

    in Sports

The Tigers relinquish a 5-0 lead, topped off with Joakim Soria's first blown save of the season, but then they win it 6-5 in 11 innings on a solo home run by catcher James McCann. That's his 2nd carer home run, and his first career walk-off homer. There are pros and cons I'd like to break down in this one. Alfredo Simon takes on Collin McHugh tomorrow night. I'm still having a major headache over this.

According to Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock, current AHL Grand Rapids Griffins head coach Jeff Blashill will be the new head coach of the Red Wings.

The Wings sign Michigan center Dylan Larkin to a 3-year entry-level deal with the Grand Rapids Griffins, who will start their Western Conference Finals series with the Utica Comets Sunday at 7:00 PM EST.
