February is Black History Month, and a site filled with black history, the final resting place for a who's who of prominent black South Floridians, is in Miami. One topic that can make even the strongest of people cringe is death. Death is also the one part of life that we can bank on. If we live....we die, that's that. How can we become comfortable with this concept and accept that we are not alone in this end result? How can we prepare for the end days of our loved ones and for ourselves? We experience this transition over and over again during our lives vicariously through the transition of others. We can learn what we wish for ourselves, and what we definitely don't want. But how will anyone know your wishes unless you talk about it!
Let's get together and share our experiences, our knowledge, and our tips on how to hold onto dignity and great grace during the most trying, and yet inevitable event in our lives.
As our listeners may know, we pride ourselves in providing you with the facts, and we strive to bring you topics that are important to the community. In this episode of M.A.N. M.A.D.E. RADIO we are discussing the devastating affects the HIV and AIDS viruses have on our communities both individually and as a whole. It seems that as we go from generation to generation our level of sexuality increases tremendously. In this sexually driven society it is our responsibility to save our youth from their own demise. Join me for a very special show with my guest Raheim Leblanc, and GQ. GQ began as Sabu & the Survivors in 1968. Lead vocalist Emmanuel Rahiem LeBlanc, Keith Crier, Herb Lane, and Paul Service were original members, but by 1980 GQ were a trio following Service's departure. They had two Top Ten R&B and Top 20 pop hits, as well as a number one R&B single in 1979, with "Disco Nights (Rock-Freak)" also peaking at number 12 pop which gave them an American Music Award.
