A Woman with (No) Strings Attached~

Lucie had always found skiing far more exciting than sex. That is until one day, the sex got better. For years she had thought orgasm was an unattainable myth, but after a lifetime of boring, conventional sex with her husband, the 58 year old family doctor discovers an entirely new side to her personality. She joins an internet site for adults looking to meet for sex just for sex's sake, not connected with love, or meant as a gift for the other person. Unusually, this was the idea of Lucie's new American partner Tom, who lives apart from her in New York. Tom has voyeuristic tendencies and he is excited by her detailed reports as she contacts, meets, and sexually explores a variety of men. Tom and Lucie in her guise as her alter ego, Adrienne, delight in uncovering this daring and unconventional new aspect to her character. Both are having fun, but will Tom always accept Lucie's erotic liaisons, or is the bubble destined to burst? A Woman with (No) Strings is an unusual and explicit memoir of one average woman's journey to not-so-average sexual enlightenment.

EP206 Historical Fiction Author Liza Perrat Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Writing

Liza grew up in Wollongong, Australia, where she worked as a general nurse and midwife for fifteen years. When she met her French husband on a Bangkok bus, she moved to France, where she has been living with her husband and three children for twenty years. She works part-time as a French-English medical translator, and as a novelist. Her articles on French culture and tradition have been published in international magazines.  Spirit of Lost Angels is the first in her French historical trilogy, The Bone Angel Series. The second – Wolfsangel – was published in October, 2013, and the third, Blood Rose Angel, will be published in November, 2015. She is a founding member of the author collective, Triskele Books and reviews books for BookMuse.

    About the book:

1348. A bone-sculpted angel and the woman who wears it––heretic, Devil’s servant, saint.
Midwife Héloïse has always known that her bastard status threatens her standing in the French village of Lucie-sur-Vionne. Yet her midwifery and healing skills have gained the people’s respect, and she has won the heart of the handsome Raoul Stonemason. The future looks hopeful. Until the Black Death sweeps into France.

Terrified that Héloïse will bring the pestilence into their cottage, Raoul forbids her to treat its victims. Amidst the grief and hysteria, the villagers searching for a scapegoat, Héloïse must choose: preserve her marriage, or honour the oath she swore on her dead mother’s soul? And even as she places her faith in the protective powers of her angel talisman, she must prove she’s no Devil’s servant, her talisman no evil charm.

Héloïse, with all her tragedies and triumphs, celebrates the birth of modern medicine, midwifery and thinking in late medieval times.

Jeryl F. Hodge Is Saving the Pages for Future Generations

    in Writing

Jeryl F. Hodge’s book, Save the Pages for Future Generations, is of special value to her for a personal reason. She and her mother had a good relationship when her mother died at age 59. Although Jeryl thought about how much she valued her mother, she wanted to write about their lives. She believes some of the stories might help resolve old conflicts and promote understanding among family members.

Jeryl takes a great deal of pride in recognizing the role of her late parents, Esmie and Charles Frazer, during the course of her life. In 2011, Jeryl was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 57 years old. She learned to manage her therapy throughout her life. Jeryl F. Hodge now loves to read, write, and collect information on the early history of the US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands. Her interest in the final was to write a book about her family history as it was in her homeland.

Another reason for writing this book is that her mother told her about her experiences growing up in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and was not able to publish them. Jeryl recalled wonderful, often-forgotten experiences and have written them on paper since she retired.

Jeryl, a native of Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands, grew up in Saint Thomas with her parents and in Tortola with her grandparents and aunts. A graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School, Jeryl lives in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

A former employee with 38 years of employment with VITelCo (Virgin Islands Telephone Company), now Innovative Telephone Company, Jeryl is best recognized for singing with the eleven-o’clock choir at Christ Church Methodist. She is the wife of Irvine Hodge Sr. and a mother of two children, Irvine Jr. and Devin.
