Talking Motorcycles with Troy Bayliss-3 Time WSB Champion

    in Sports

Daytona Beach, FL (April 28, 2015) - Troy Bayliss won three World Superbike Championships on a Ducati. In 152 starts, the Australian had 94 podium finishes and 52 race victories. In 2006, as a substitute rider in place of the injured Sete Gibernau, he brought Ducati a MotoGP win at Valencia.

Retirement means different things to different people. For Bayliss it meant establishing Troy Bayliss Events and promoting a variety of major events including the wildly successful Troy Bayliss Classic in his home country. This year, over 8,000 people were treated to world class flat track racing featuring Grand National riders from the USA.

The 46-year-old Bayliss will be competing in five AMA Pro Flat Track Mile races in 2015 on the Lloyd Brothers Ducati and we look forward to hearing his thoughts in this special edition of Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone.

Nathon Verdugo, Public Relations Manager at Ducati North America, will join us to explain the factories involvement and what it took behind the scenes to bring this together.

Johnny Lewis, National #10, will be Troy's teammate on a Ducati for Lloyd Brothers Motorsports and we look forward to having Johnny on the show! JL10 is quietly building a franchise in the racing world and we will discuss his latest projects and his thoughts about riding the Ducati and being a teammate to the three time World Superbike Champion.

Talking Motorcycles with Tyler O'Hara and Shelina Moreda

    in Sports

Talking Motorcycles West Coast Road Racing Special with Tyler Ohara and Shelina Moreda
Tyler Ohara is the 2014 Daytona Vance & Hines Harley Series Daytona winner. He finished 2nd in the event then was declared the winner following Kyle Wyman’s disqualification in post race inspection. What was a good start to the 2014 Championship season is now a great one. Ohara is fired up and we talk to him about Daytona, Road America and the year ahead. In recent years, if you are going to win a Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series National Championship, Tyler is one of the riders you must deal with. 2014 appears to be the same way. A classic battle is already underway in the most competitive V & H HD Series!
Shelina Moreda is without a doubt one of the busiest and most diverse riders in the Pro Road Racing paddock and the sport overall. If riding the raucous XR1200 and the Brammo E-road racer was not enough diversity for you, she teaches other ladies the art of racing and on occasion dons umbrella girl apparel and wows them on pit road. A new element in the mix is her growing interest in flat track. We talk about all that and Shelina's plans for this season.
Host, Barry Boone, will summarize and comment on the conversation from last weeks show with David Lloyd of Lloyd Brothers Motorsports Ducati Team concerning the future of professional flat track in America. We reflect on the conversation and discuss the highlights revealed.
Join us tonight at 8pm Eastern on Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone.

Author Lance Oliver spins tales from a motorcycling life

    in Lifestyle

Whether recounting a laid-back ramble along an Appalachian back road or trying to reach 170 mph on a Kawasaki Ninja at Losail International Circuit in Qatar, the tales from Lance Oliver’s book, The Ride So Far, uncover the essence of what makes motorcycling so much more than just a way to get from here to there. Lance Oliver took his first motorcycle rides on a humble Honda 50 and has since ridden anything he could get his hands on, from a Ducati 999s to a 1968 Motobi 125. Over the years he has worked as a newspaper reporter and editor in New York, Florida and Puerto Rico, as a volunteer English teacher in rural Costa Rica, and as a magazine and website editor at the American Motorcyclist Association. He currently lives in Ohio with his wife, Ivonne, and a collection of formerly homeless animals, and works as a freelance writer and translator.
Internationally-renowned motorcycle editor and freelance MotoGP correspondent David Emmett shares the story about how he built the MotoMatters.com website from a small hobby into one of the biggest MotoGP-only websites on the Internet and continually informs and entertains both MotoGP insiders and motorcycle racing newbies alike.
