What is trauma and what are the best interventions? What are the triggers and what are the solutions? Duane Bowers returns to Shattered Lives Radio to discuss these questions and more. Listeners will learn the importance of trauma informed care and why its model should be used by advocacy agencies, law enforcement and individual victim service providers. Bowers will also bring us up to date on his current projects.
America has seen it's share of traumatic events this year, Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, explosions at the Boston Marathon, and a deadly blow up of a fertilizer company in Texas. With wall to wall coverage on the news and the internet, we seem to be living in a state of shock and awe. How do we cope? Do national tragic events like this change our place in the world and shake our belief system?
Duane Bowers returns to Shattered Lives to discuss these events and offer listeners a glimpse into where we turn to meet our spiritual needs during times of intense grief and confusion. Where do we place our anger, and who will answer questions that perhaps have no answers?
We will have both messianics and non messiancs inside the round table to dialog.

From Lili Elbe in the early 30's to Christine Jorgensen in the early 50's to Renee Richards in the mid 70's to Calpernia Addams in the late 90's and early2000's to today's Janet Mock, Jamie Clayton, Laverne Cox, Jenny Boylan, Angelica Ross, Jen Richards and Monica Roberts, not to mention Dr. Marci Bowers and Dr. Christine McGinn...the visibility and awareness of the transgender community is at an all time high.
