Substance Abuse Counselor DJ Diebold will be our guest speaker on this re-broadcast show from 10/15/11. He has been serving the behavioral health community for over 26 years and is the Director of Diebold Behavioral Counseling. His statement on the recovery process is this: "Our lower self is nothing but a manifestation of fear and the hold it can have on us. Giving into this fear renders our lives unmanageable."

Life Coach, Personal Development Specialist, Author and Radio Talk-Show Host Nazim Rashid is the guest speaker today continuing his dialogue on Recovery, specifically the 12 Principles of Recovery taken from his program and book Reconnected-How To Be A Mentor To Your Child-Self. I have a real personal investment in Addiction Recovery and have over 100 pages dedicated to Addictions, Co-Dependency and Recovery in my Twelve Principles of Recovery chapter and Co-Dependency chapter. This Recovery program is not just for those afflicted with drug addictions. It is also beneficial to those suffering from Anger, Abuse, Compulsive Disorders, Overeating, Gambling, Sexual, and Controlling issues. This is good for relationship building too. It is time to internalize the feelings, emotions, and visions of the New You. You need help in doing so as you are going against all the voices of the past telling you what to do, what not to do, who to be with, who not to be with, what you can accomplish and what you cannot accomplish. This kind of energy is monumental and is hard to just blow it off and create a new life. This book Reconnected gives you the pratical tools to do this step by step. --- On the last show I finished the 11th Principle of Recovery.

Tuberculosis isn’t on a lot of people’s radar, but it should be. Technically, there is a global tuberculosis pandemic, with someone dying every 25 seconds. Tuberculosis is also developing resistance to even the most powerful, “last line of defense” antibiotics currently made.
What can you do to protect yourself from drug-resistant tuberculosis? Join me for the next episode of Herbal Prepper Live, July 27, 2014, where I will discuss antibiotic herbs and essential oils, length of care, herbs to ease the symptoms of tuberculosis, the impact of tuberculosis care on your food storage, how to support your immune system, as well as herbs and essential oils to disinfect a sick room.

Life Check-7 Steps to Balance your Life with author Robin Marvel
Robin is a woman who has beat the odds, changed her life and would like to share her inspiring story with you. She is "that" girl who survived mental, domestic and drug abuse, several bouts of homelessness and parental kidnappings throughout childhood ~ Becoming addicted to alcohol and partying at age 15 led to me becoming sexually assaulted and a teen mother at age 16. (in no relation to the sexual assault) Upon finding out she was having a girl Robin made the choice that they would not be a statistic.
Robin took those negative situations she was dealt in life and turned them into motivation and purpose. Robin made the choice to break the cycle of dysfunction she had known as a child and young adult by taking responsibility for her life. Robin is now a multi-published author and speaker in the field of self development, her fifth book is "Life Check-7 Steps to Balance Your Life".
Robin is also the founder of United Hands of Change. United Hands of Change is a non-profit organization that strives to create strength and confidence through aiding those in need. Encouraging all people to take a hands on approach to their life encouraging them to live to their full potential. www.unitedhandsofchange.org

if you wonder whether you may be codependent, you’re not alone. Different types of people may behave in a codependent manner, and codependence manifests in varying degrees of severity. Not all codependents are unhappy, while others live in pain or quiet desperation. Codependency is not something you heal from and are forever done with, but you can enjoy yourself, your life, and your relationships. Should you choose to embark on recovery, you’re beginning an exciting and empowering journey.
Jeff and Chris address issues of mental, physical and spiritual health, the realities of not being the only addict in the family, and Jeff confidently claims his faith while Chris kinda dances around claiming his atheism.
David Foster Wallace and his work are woven through much of this episode. He’ll likely keep coming up because he was a genius tormented by his addictions and himself.
Chris’ Step (Up) 2: The Streets: As many of you might imagine, much of the faith-focused talk stems from our discussion of AA’s Step 2. The “Surrender” Steps do seem to be proving a bit of a sticking point for Chris.
Intro/Outro and Musicians In Recovery: We’re looking for help with a theme song and soliciting submissions from musicians in recovery who’d be interested in having a bit of their music played during outros of upcoming episodes. RightNow@KLENandSOBR.com or ChrisA@SinceRightNow.com
