    Actress Noree Victoria

    in Entertainment

Noree Victoria, Baltimore, Maryland native, has been active in the creative arts her entire life. Starting out writing imaginative short stories and plays, she completed her first bound children’s book at the age of 7. Loving the arts and academics, during her middle school years, she used creative and intellectual outlets to escape her sometimes-challenging upbringing in Baltimore, opting to spend summers in special programs on college campuses studying drama, creative writing, and painting with the help of government subsidized grants and academic scholarships. At the age of 16, once again longing for a life beyond the borders of her home city, she petitioned her school board on her own and successfully won their approval to bypass her senior year, and go directly on to college, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing and Biology, and subsequently a Master’s Degree in Information Technology. Noree completed her Master’s program with a 4.0 GPA. However, coming from an entertainment family with modest means-- kin to the late jazz musician Eubie Blake, and sister to Emmy nominated actress Penny Jerald-- the lure of acting proved way too overpowering for her to neglect. After completion of her academic studies, she stepped out on faith to pursue her creative passions in the performing arts full time, gaining recognition by winning the Best Actress award at AMTC’s Shine, a nation-wide talent competition drawing over 2000 contestants each year. After being discovered at AMTC, Noree was contacted by the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts and offered a scholarship to study under the direction of some of the most esteemed instructors in the business, taking on Scene Study, Advanced Film Combat, Voice-over, Michael Chekhov technique and Shakespeare Presentation.

    Oxalates...Ask Your Questions!!!

    in Health

On Monday, April 27, 2015 at 8 PM Eastern we will do a follow up on the very popular oxalate podcast. We have the honor of hosting Monique L. Attinger, the "Low Ox Coach"!.

Monique works as a diet and health coach, to support those who want to heal using the low oxalate diet. She has recovered her own health by reducing her oxalate intake, and has been involved in the low oxalate world for over 6 years now. Monique brings to her work with clients all the skills she gained doing business consulting for 20 years, as well as her Master’s degree in Library and Information science, in combination with her curiosity and fervor for details; it is this which allows her to help people who want to get to the bottom of their health issues. While she has done some nutritionist studies, she has not completed them, because no program in current existence deals with oxalate, and so no program could not could give her more on oxalate than she already knew from submerging herself in the research, and interacting with those in the know. For the past three years, she has helped clients to regain their health through changing their diet. You can reach her at LowOxCoach@gmail.com

Monique will give a short presentation (here's the link to the pdf: http://goo.gl/AXZI5Z) and then be available to answer your questions.

Join us for this very special podcast and tell your friends!!!!   Dr. Jess   :-)

Autumn, The Play Inspired by Former Newark Mayors, Cory Booker and Sharpe James!

    in Education

Autumn, The Play Inspired by the Newark NJ Mayors Cory Booker and Sharp James!

SATURDAY, APRIL 19, 2015 EXCLUSIVE: MNN's "The Gist of Freedom" Interviews of Richard Wesley and cast members! Mr. Wesley an Award-winning Playwright and Screenwriter talks about his new play, "Autumn"!

Richard Wesley, whose hits include "Uptown Saturday Night" and "Let's Do It Again" which starred Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby and "The Mighty Gents" which went to Broadway.

"Autumn," an absorbing new drama by Richard Wesley that probes the fragility of political legacies and human relationships, premieres at Crossroads Theatre Company April 23 through May 3.

"Autumn" is the first full-length stage play, since the premiere of Wesley's acclaimed work, "The Talented Tenth," in 1989, which looked at the lives of a group of Howard University graduates who were part of an emerging Black elite.

“I began thinking that there was a new generation of post-civil rights movement politicians emerging that was very different from the generation that came of age during the civil rights movement,” Wesley said. “There was a group of old-school politicians who found themselves wrapped up in political scandals; and right behind [them] were these younger politicians who were moving up.”

Since 1995, Wesley has been an associate professor of dramatic writing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he served as chair of the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing for eight years. He is a former vice president of the Writers Guild of America, East.

Crossroads Theater Company is located at 7 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. For tickets, call (732) 545-8100 or purchase online at crossroadstheatrecompany.org.
