Previously, she was the co-owner of Health Management Consultants, a research firm that developed grant-funded, Internet-based, disease management programs for cardiac rehabilitation, medication compliance, weight management, and childhood obesity prevention. Each program was associated with a clinical trial, resulting in several published, peer-reviewed journal articles.

Originally from New Orleans, Barbara is now living in Bradford, NH, where she and her husband are restoring a home that was badly damaged in a fire and left vacant for seven years. Their dream is to turn it into a retreat where people can learn to grow their own food, cook healthy meals, and enjoy an active lifestyle.
Dr. Fred Valdes is a resident of Florida and at present is teaching part-time at a medical school near Miami. His respect of Moringa has led him to join with Zija Int'l and Club Moringa.
