This week on Relationships 2.0 my guest is Linda Carroll author of Love Cycles: The Five Essential Stages of Lasting Love.
Whether you are in a new relationship or you’ve been partnered for years, you will benefit from Linda’s relationship expertise.
About the book:
In Love Cycles, veteran couples therapist Linda Carroll presents a groundbreaking model of the five natural stages of romantic relationships — the Merge, Doubt and Denial, Disillusionment, Decision, and Wholehearted Love — and a guide for navigating through them toward lasting love. Love Cycles helps readers understand where they are in the cycle of their relationship and provides a clear strategy for how to stay happy and committed, even in difficult times.
About the author:
Linda Carroll, MS, has worked as a couple’s therapist for more than 30 years. In addition to being a licensed psychotherapist, she is certified in Transpersonal Psychology and Imago Therapy, the highly successful form of couple’s therapy developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt. She is also a master teacher in the Pairs Psychoeducation Process, a nationally-recognized relationship education program for couples.
Linda has studied many modalities of psychological and spiritual work, including Voice Dialogue with Drs. Hal and Sidra Stone, Holotropic Breathwork with Dr. Stan Grof, the Four-Fold With Angeles Arrien, the Diamond Heart Work of A.H. Almaas, and training with The Couples Institute of Drs. Ellyn Bader and Peter Pearson. She is also certified in the Hot Monogamy program, which helps couples create or re-create a passionate connection between them.
Good morning and welcome to Get Healthy Now with Denise Thomson, Founder and CEO of Miclknight. I am an Educator, Author, Speaker and passionate about healthy and balanced living.
Why is Physical Balance so important?
ex.: Jr.'s story from when we took him in (November 11, 2009, prior 2 years convalescent home after amputation of left leg) to when he passed away (September 21, 2015 at 92 years and exactly 8 months) 6 years of learning, challenges, solutions, (vegetable, reduced meds with Dr.'s knowledge, interacted with him, healthier nutrition, better hydration, started swimming after 5 months living with us, increased swimming to 1 mile a day, sometimes 2 miles!)
ex.: my story November 5, 2015
What does Physical Balance prevent? What are the benefits? How can we achieve them?
No marathon needed! Consistent, daily exercise makes a big difference, not just physically, also emotionally, spiritually and what we'll see next week, mentally. Even passive exercising is better than no exercising.
Until next week! Stay happy, healthy, balanced and empowered!
On the last episode of Spartan Life Radio, we talked about the stupendous Black History Month (BMH) 2016 observance taking place at Norfolk State University. In this episode, we tracked down several faculty members who have created unique and interesting programming for this year's observance. Did you know that there's a connection between the famous Buffalo Soldiers of Virginia's history and the Philippines? We're going to talk to NSU's Dr. April T. Manalang, assistant professor in the Department of History and Interdisciplinary Studies, about her research into this "hidden" Virginia History and the program she's created for the Black History Month Celebration. Professor Anthony Stockard, director of the NSU Theatre Company, will discuss the encore performance of the award-winning play "The Brothers Size." The drama has won several awards and was recently presented at the Kennedy Center's American College Theatre Festival. "The Brothers Size" was also presented at last year's National Black Theatre Festival making it the most-awarded production in Norfolk State University history! And, last but certainly not least, Professor Carol Pretlow, NSU's resident political guru, who will round out our panel will discuss a BHM program involving students from the political science department. African American Perspectives on International Politics and Foreign Policy is a panel discussion on the topic from the student perspective.
Join us for what promises to be a spirited conversation.
