    DON OSCAR MIRO-QUESADA-PERUVIAN SHAMANIC WISDOM

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: Transforming the World Through Sacred Living
Don Oscar Miro-Quesada originated the Pachakuti Mesa tradition of cross-cultural shamanism and is the visionary founder of The Heart of the Healer Foundation. His new book, LESSONS IN COURAGE: Peruvian Shamanic Wisdom for Everyday Life, shares with us his awakening to the vibrations in the universe and their power in aiding him to return to “wholeness,” becoming one with the universe.
Both of his beloved Peruvian shamanic teachers, don Celso Rojas Palomino and then don Benito Corihuaman Vargas, urged him to share his “prophetic vision” with the Western world, particularly as the time of pachakuti, the prophesied “world turning,” was approaching.
Oscar is a warm, loving human being who deeply cares about people and our planet and has an infectious belly laugh. He is a master at creating sacred community using the magic of joy, love and compassion as the strands that gently weave us together as a planetary family.

A PASSIONATE CALL TO HEAL OUR WOUNDED NATURE - BURL HALL AUTHOR OF SOPHIA'S WEB

    in Culture

ENVISION THIS: The threads of Love that weave us together spread throughout all aspects of our lives and our universe, including personal, cultural, spiritual, philosophical, intellectual, and scientific.

Burl Hall is author of the upcoming book, Sophia's Web: A Passionate Call to Heal Our Wounded Nature.  You will probably also recognize him as co-host of Envision This!  Merry interviews him regarding his understanding of the unity within diversity that underlies the book.

Advance praise for Sophia's Web comes from many outstanding sources. Anne Baring, author of The Dream of the Cosmos: A Quest for the Soul calls Sophia's Web, "A most wonderful and inspiring book, incandescent with personal visionary experience and words that communicate in prose that is often poetry." Don Oscar Miro-Quesada, co-author, Lessons in Courage: Peruvian Shamanic Wisdom for Everyday Life and founder of The Heart of the Healer Foundation says "In Sophia's Web, Burl Hall has masterfully articulated a long overdue vision of human evolutionary transformation found reflected within the inherent integrity of Creation itself." Rob Kall, Editor-in-Chief of Opednews.com says "This book pulls together the holistic Earth-Wisdom of many physicists, philosophers, psychologists, and myths. It will inspire you, get you thinking in new, out of the box ways and give you hope for the future of humanity within us all." Carolyn Baker, author of Collapsing Consciously, in her Forward says "Rarely do we have the opportunity to hear an embodied male acknowledge what Burl Hall lays bare in Sophia’s Web.”

    Sacred Sunday~Romans 3/Everyone Sins-Everyone Needs Jesus

    in Christianity

Good morning church! Thank you for joining us today! Today we are reading:

    Romans Chapter 3:

It's not that Paul's saying that being a Jew who follows Jewish law and is circumcised is not a big deal, because it totally is. It's great actually! Twenty points to the children of Israel!

Paul tells us that the Jews were the first people God shared his wisdom and laws with, so he knows they're cool in the Big Guy's eyes.

Sure, it's true that some Jewish people have been unfaithful to God over the years. For example: there are all those Jews who still stubbornly refused to believe Jesus is the messiah. (Not cool, according to Paul.)

But everyone lies. Everyone sins. No one really knows God. Way to bring us down, Paul. The good news is this doesn't make any difference to God. The crappiness of the world just reveals how awesome God actually is. Sweet.

Again, Paul stresses that Jews and Gentiles are on the same footing. No one gets a head start in the race to salvation.

This is basically because God sent Jesus to save everyone in the entire world. Only he can help us stop being so sinful and jerky all the time.

Yes, Paul says, Jewish law tells us what sin is and that's super important. (So, don't chuck out those Torahs just yet, guys.)

But the most important thing now is that God has sent Jesus. This is the natural continuation of Jewish law, but it's also outside of it. Whoa, Paul's blowing our minds.

Look, basically, God is going to save everyone who believes in Jesus no matter what their background was before they came to believe. Everyone sins. That means everyone needs Jesus. It's pretty simple. Thanks to shmoop.com
