Major General Glenn Lesniak shares role of Army Reserves

    in Lifestyle

From the halls of Congress to the chambers of our state houses, legislators are discussing the future of the American military and the resources needed to defend our nation at home and our interests abroad.

JOINING US NOW TO DISCUSS THE RESERVES’ OVERALL ROLE IS DEPUTY CHIEF OF THE ARMY RESERVE MAJOR GENERAL GLENN LESNIAK, WHO YESTERDAY ADDRESSED THE MILITARY AND VETERANS AFFAIRS TASK FORCE DURING THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF STATE LEGISLATURES.

WHAT WAS YOUR MESSAGE TO THE TASK FORCE?

WHAT ROLE DOES THE RESERVE PLAY IN OUR NATION’S SECURITY AND IN DISASTER RESPONSE?

WITH BUDGET RESTRAINTS A REALITY, JUST HOW COST EFFECTIVE ARE THE ARMY RESERVES AND WHAT POSITIVE ECONOMIC IMPACT DOES THE RESERVE HAVE ON LOCAL COMUNITIES?

WHAT DIFFERENTIATES AN ARMY RESERVE PERSON FROM THE REST OF THE POPULATION?

HOW WOULD YOU SUGGEST WE LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ARMY RESERVES?

The U.S. Army Reserve and its contribution to our nation can hardly be understated.  But does anyone really know the true extent of the roles carried out by these brave men and women?  As the threat of domestic terrorism grows, it is the Army Reserve that helps to provide an unflinching presence in our national security.  When natural disasters hit communities both within our borders and worldwide, the Army Reserve can respond with supplies and aid.

Major General Glenn Lesniak, Deputy Chief of the Army Reserve, discusses the role of the Army Reserve, key issues facing the future of our nation’s military, and what this may mean for states that have a major military presence. Major General Glenn J. Lesniak assumed the position as the Deputy Chief of the Army Reserve at the Pentagon in October 2014 and has served for more than 38 years.

Her goal is to provide Educational Seminars and resources for victims and families dealing with domestic violence, mental and emotional stress, and substance abuse that weaken the family structure and values.  These seminars are to help improve parenting skills, promote abstinence among our youth, and provide Christian counseling relating to family values and issues.  To strengthen, encourage and motivate men and women. Strengthening the Families Outreach Ministries Programs airs on Tuesdays on Fresh Manna Our Daily Bread Blog Talk Radio.

Today’s Discussion: Issues of Life-Blaming Others for Your Mistakes!

It’s much easier to blame others for our mistakes than to admit it’s our fault.  As long as we continue to shift the guilt of error off ourselves and place it upon other individuals who may or may not deserve it, we will not grow and learn from what we did wrong, since we fail to acknowledge that we did it!  What can we do to change this type of behavior?

Laura from We Are Survivors International shares her story about surviving abuse

    in Current Events

Tonight on Tackling Domestic Violence, Troy Otradovec welcomes Laura from We Are Survivors International to the show.  Laura was in an abuse relationship, and she will share her story.  Today her and her chlidren are still coping, but taking all the right steps forward. From the words of Laura:

"Two years ago, I left my emotionally and physically abusive husband. It has been an emotional roller coaster but we are two years free and my two children and I are working through the aftershocks of a violent marriage. The effects of one monster's brutal behavior has changed our world, our outlook on life and relationships. We went through hell, but we are working through it and are in a much brighter and safer place now. The three of us will deal with the impact of this for the rest of our lives, however we are survivors and I am hopeful that we will break the cycle."

Domestic Violence affects one in four women, in their lifetime.  Over six million children will witness some form of domestic abuse this year.  It is time to stop domestic violence one person at a time.  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.
