    Understanding Canine Aggression


    Kellie Snider will be joining Dog Talk host, Michelle Huntting, to help us better understand canine aggression. If you are a dog trainer, pet owner, or shelter staff you won't want to miss this broadcast as Kellie shares science based explanation.


    Kellie Snider, MS is the Manager of Animal Behavior Programs (ABP) at the SPCA of Texas which has two animal shelters and 3 wellness clinics in the DFW area. Kellie designed and developed their Animal Behavior Programs Department which encompasses behavior evaluations, behavior assessments, and obedience training. She designed and continually updates the monthly staff and volunteer trainings for animal handling, restraint, socialization, enrichment, canine assessments and canine obedience. Before coming to the SPCA of Texas, she conducted the Constructional Aggression Treatment (CAT) research on understanding canine aggression as operant behavior under the direction of Dr. Jesús Rosales-Ruiz at the University of North Texas and conducted seminars for animal behaviorists and trainers on the procedure across the US, in Canada and in England. Kellie began working with animals in about 1998 and has conducted presentations about animal behavior at academic symposia, professional seminars, workshops and classes since 2002. Kellie is an artist in her spare time, working in fiber (rug hooking), markers, inks and watercolor.  A life-long animal lover, Kellie shares her Texas home with four cats, two dogs, two sons and a husband … not necessarily in that order. Kellie instructs courses at Kenyon Canine Institute: Canine Behavior Science I, Canine Behavior Science II, and Canine Behavior Modification Science.
